  1. I think they fit fine, have a look on 6speed forums, a guy carrier out this mod recently, still a current running thread.
  2. Thats does look nice! i have emailed him for more of the images or that and the rest of the car! Love that white.
  3. PM me your email address, I will send you some interesting pics and a contact for this!!!
  4. Very brief questions, do the Porsche 997 mirrors fit the 996? Thanks.
  5. Hi there, I have a 2000 996 C2, I am looking to upgrade the front brakes. Would like bigger discs up front and 6 pot calipers (as fitted to the Turbo. What are my options? how involved is this? Thanks.
  6. Okay, the problem was the main fuse, it had blown. Now replaced all fine...
  7. I managed to fit the ignition switch. Regrettably the alarm problem is not as simple as whats posted in the threads you quoted. Still no power to the clocks, alarm is still screaming, turn signals are continously flashing. Battery is not flat, its fully charged, disconnecting the battery does not help, all fuses are fine.
  8. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=56445 Any user had this issue, but nobody address it, I wonder if he solved it :(
  9. I have checked all those threads (and previously read them when searching), unfortunately they supply no information or assistance with my problem.
  10. With respect, I have spent the last 3 hours searching through threads on this site, all to no avail. If anyone else has any input that could help me I would be most grateful. Loren: if you feel my technical query is a waste of time and a repost please feel free to remove this post...
  11. Hi guys, 996 C2 - 1999 - UK RHD. I have a problem and need some urgent assistance, I would be very greatful for any assistance.. A couple of days ago I had a problem with the ignition switch, a quick search on this site I found it to be a faulty ignition switch. This morning I purchased a new one from a VW store and decided to carry out the task myself. I was taking the car apart and attempting to remove the existing ignition switch, however the two screws (covered in red paint) won't shift. I had to go off and come back to the car later on, I locked the car using the key and came back to it about 30 mins later and the alarm started going off and the car would not start, there is no power to the dash and the car does not turn over. I have checked the fuses, they look fine, as far as I can see, I have disconnected the battery and reconnected, this hasn't done anything. (however I only disconnected the battery for a few seconds, I'm an idiot, should have been at least 10 mins) I have locked the car and unlocked it and still no go. I now cannot open the front boot/trunk the lever is "locked" in place, no force will help, in addition the rear engine compartment lid lever is also locked in place. I cannot get into the front boot to disconnect or check the battery.. Does anybody have any ideas? - is there a way to reset the alarm/immobilizer? - how do I release the front boot lock on the 99 model (mechanical system) - anybody come across this problem before? I am really stuck, I would really appreciate any advice or ideas. :( :( :( Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks for the help, will try swapping out the relays tomorrow morning, if not will get the fan unit changed...
