  1. Can you get me a contact at Promotive? Where are they? i am trying to find them for an ECU program. thanks.
  2. i have a Strosek on my C2 cab. i've had the car a couple years with no quality issues to speak of. the original owner had it installed by the dealer for around $6k complete. i bought the car used, but talked to the dealer who did the install during the inspection. i get a lot of positive comments on the body kit. however, it could stand to be lowered (what car can't use a little lowering?) the nose piece tapers up so it give the impression of riding high in the front.
  3. mine went on my '99 996 c2 at 56k miles. happened 2 weeks after buying the car and spending another $6k on interior stuff for track days. DE event. mechanic told me oil starvation in the carousel. anyway, car has been sitting for 2 years and i'm ready to get it running agin. came across this thread while searching for optins. can anyone attest to whether a 3.6 is an option with mech throttle?
  4. i started with rockitman's instructions and shattered the windshield from inside by trying to "crush" the rocker covers. granted, i wasn't probably paying attention. but i could have had a shop do the install for what the windshield will cost me.
  5. sorry for delay. car is stock other than the body mods and the wheels. it rides very wheel and hasn't given me any rub issues. i would think that it could be lowered without any issues (beyond my wife kicking my *** for spending more money on this car).
  6. OK. It looks like the dealer has a point. Why then is my exact set-up shown on the Strosek website? Is it pure negligence on their part? They claim that my front end "reduces lift on front axle". http://www.strosek.de/strosek_2006.php
  7. I was at a local porsche dealer the other day to grab the latest Nord Stern newsletter and a salesman pulled me aside to tell me that my car is very unsafe with its current configuration. He explained that the rear spoiler with the absense of a front spoiler will cause the front to get very light at speeds over 90mph. For the record, he was pretty nice about the explanation. I doubt he expected me to trade it in for a different car right then and there. Anyway, I agree in principle that he may be correct. But am I the only one with this type of set-up? And is he right? I plan to do some driver training at BIR next month, so I'm concerned about the set-up. I figure i have the following options: leave as is and throw some sand in the baggage compt pull the rear wing off add a different front end with spoiler install wheelie bars
  8. it's Strosek. I didn't buy it. The car came with it. they have a boxser on their site with this same front end.
  9. So far, no rubbing issues. I originally would have gone with 18's but they aren't available in that size. Actually, the 19's drive really nice. I would recommend them now.
  10. Removed Strosek Eyelids Had a few door dings repaired Had nose cone holes filled and repainted Added 19" wheels and tires What do ya think?
  11. like these? if i can get them off my car, i'll sell them to you.
  12. Thanks for the replies. It looks better in photo than in person. I appreciate the input and advice.
  13. any idea how to remove these covers? i think they're lame lookng. i assume they're held with adhesive or cement. can it usually be removed from the headlight lense without marks?
  14. i haven't heard of issues with 19's, just thinking they might be a bit harsher than 18's and looking for some confirmation either way. btw, I meant 996, not 997, unfortunately.
  15. I'm considering 19" wheels for a 997 C2. Can I get some input on how they behave? I have 18's on a boxster s and might not want to go larger on that car. We have some rough roads in MN. Thanks!
