  1. I have changed almost all bulbs to white led inside. Looks nice, more updated and not (as I feared) tacky.. However am experiencing odd behavior as well with the center light console becoming in-operational after the ligts turn themselves off if doors remain open too long..The only way I found to get the light back is to close car (like you were going home) and re-open.. Can it be so that the LEDs disrupts the function somehow?
  2. ok just did it.. One of the clips was already broken so need to fix that, thanx for the help!!
  3. Brave man.. Apart from not having the space to work in I would probably not dare... hm..my 04 CS has about 70 K km, still under warranty last year so hope it brakes before..if not I will just sell the car before the warranty runs out..Spoke to someone else here at the forum, no way of provoking the leak? If the parts crumble when you touch them perhaps a pinch at the right place will trigger this and I can get it replaced.. Not trying to scam here just force nature a bit -)
  4. Hi all, hope everyone is doing great! On my 04 CS I found that the cover in the back for the lock mount is acting up and the small lid that is supposed to flap is falling off one hinge. The rear hatch still closes etc but I want to fix it.. How do I remove the whole cover in metal that covers the lock area??? See item 6 in the attached PDF... (got this from a post here but could not find page 98 that it refers to on the next page) BR /Bertil cayennerearluggageareaLinings7 2.pdf
  5. Hi all, I have been searching high and low for this and as I just moved from Italy to Germany roads are not where my PCM say they are (guess Germans have built more then the Italians lately :-)) I need to get the update done... I have a 2004 CS with a PCM 2.0 (CD based) system.. Firmware version 2.0.. There are maps for this system that I have but I need to get the firmware up to 3.0 and here is my problem,.. My Porsche Center will not help me out unless I buy the map set in total... Does anyone have the "PCM 2.0 Multimedia Update CD Cayenne" that will get my 2.0 firmware to 3.0 that I can buy or lend?????? Hoping to get some help.......
  6. uhmm d-mn.. I'm pretty sure it is the fuel-pump as it is the exact same noise as when the pump primes.. I'll check it out with Porsche..
  7. Alright cheers! I never heard it on the C2 and you know how it is, you have this sound and then you hear it all of the time and it gets on your nerves :-) Again thanx for clearing this out! Have a nice weekend all. It's normal to hear electronic fuel pump sound. Beside, having a Porsche I do own Merc. and BMW and they all sound the same and noticeable.
  8. Hi all, new owner of a Cayenne S model year 2004. Had a C2 01 before but "had" to switch to a car with more room..no regrets though! I have a slight issue with the fuel pump sounding a bit too much.. When I exit the car with engine on I can clearly hear the "humming" of it through the engine sound. Both me and my wife thought the sound was a moped or something in the distance hehe..It sounds like a pump should and not like it is damaged or so I guess..t I suspect it is the fuel pump since the exact same sound is heard for a couple of secs when I first open the drivers door in the morning. As I understand it the pump pre-loads the pressure to get the motor started more easily.. Anyone else but me that has this problem (if it is a problem) or am I just being too sensitive? Just had the car for 1 week so perhaps this is normal. Cheers /bertil
  9. Yepps, I bought one..but as mentioned too late.. Now that the "wave" is a fact what can be done to fix it? Thanx /b
  10. I was, unfortunately, not that quick in buying a sunshade..As a result I now have a small wave on the dash..It comes and goes depending on temp..**** it :) What should I do? Is there any way to fix this without removing the dash? Any advice is highly appreciated. BR /b
  11. Thanx Loren, I was imagining that more things would have changed from the first 3.4 that rolled out of factory to the last one of the 3.4 in 2001..Well well thanx!
  12. Hi all, does anyone know what changes that Porsche made on the 996 3.4 during it's production years? I suspect they must have done some after finding things to do better during the early days of production but would really like to get a feel for what. I have checked the TSBs and some can be found in there.. I am particularly interested in the history of 996 3.4 C2. Any ideas? Cheers /b
  13. Hi all, dunno if this site has or does not have permission to host these manuals but I figured I share it. I am in no way connected to the site btw. http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm Cheers
  14. Sorry don't seem to find it.. Search google for PCM1 and ipod or similar. /b
