  1. Sorry, I wasn't specifici enough, broken parts are the yellow clip and part of the blue socket was chipped and broken away. I wish it was just the clip it wouldn"t be a problem to just repace the clip. A heck of a lot easier than rewiring the socket. You may have the best idea and I'll see if I can get a new socket and just rewire that along with a new clip.
  2. I had a problem several weeks ago seating my passenger right side light. I was very careful pushing it in but had a heck of time. I had advice to twist the wrench to seat it in while pushing at the same time. Apparently the previous owner or ham-fisted service tech had broken the clip that holds the female socket into place. I ended up having to (gulp) use duct tape to hold the socket into place. It looks like it would be expensive and difficult to replace. If problems arise I may have to splice longer wires into the socket and just plug it in before sliding the unit in. I’m not comfortable with it the way it is now because I don’t know how far in the light seated into the socket. I may go ahead and rewire it just to be on the safe side. I’m concerned about a poor connection over heating.
  3. I'm having the same problem. Found a rusted loose bolt on top of the right cat shield and thought I had found the problem. Still rattles when accelerating. I'll keep looking and feeling...hopefully one of us will find the source.
  4. i'll bet you won't be doing that again! ;) Hopefully he'll get a glass window top! Tom, I have not replaced my top, so I have not been able to see how the headliner is installed/removed. I likely won't be replacing my top until later this summer. Depends on how finances work out. BTW, I did the same thing you did, and cracked my rear window. Had to put some clear tape on the inside, and fill the cracks with household Goop. It seals, but it looks like turd.

  6. I have a new top on order for my 2002 Boxster S. Hopefully I'll be able to install, I have the PDF files referred to in this string which should help along the way. The only thing I don't have is how to remove and replace the headliner. Any help you could give or refer me to would be appreciated. I've had my car 3 weeks and cracked the rear window the second day I had it lowering it when the weather was 33 degrees to check out the engine!
  7. I just ordered a new top for my 2002 Boxster S. I have a copy of Chris' in NH step by step process, (Thanks to Chris and Fred Adler!) My problem is there are no instructions that I see for removal of the headliner. I also have a copy of the Porsche step by step tome which seems pretty much useless. Does any one out there have instructions or know where I can get instructions for removing the headliner? I'm a Newbie, a Porshe owner for less than a month, but I can tell you, I'll be a Porsche owner for the rest of my life! A truely great car.
