  1. YES! Finally reset to CODE ****, typed in the code you gave and it worked! Thank you very much!
  2. I have a 2002 996 TT, Becker 1, 4462, sn. Y5043212. Installed a battery yesterday and get nothing but a WAIT message on the radio. The code that came with my car says 8291 but it didn't work.
  3. Any one know where a reasonably priced 60K mile service can be done in So. Cal? Dealers want $1600! Please advise as a friend is looking.
  4. Thanks, but doesn't this need to be ground down to fit?
  5. Anyone want to 'loan' out their custom 27mm wrench? I will pay to rent it and ship it back.
  6. My local dealer said there was 2 filters when changing oil, one located at the oil cooler. They wanted another $20 to change it. Does this make sense?
  7. Do these accumulators loosen up over time, or do they just go bad internally?
  8. Thank you very much. I have a warranty on the car and will see if the accumulator is covered.
  9. I bought new rear brake pads and went to install them yesterday but thought I'd check with TT owner's experience before tackling. I notice on the pads there are what appear to be weights or bearings of some kind sticking through the caliper. Are these supposed to be removed and re-installed on the new pads? The new pads don't have them but do have a flange and hole for them. Any other tips for changing these pads would be appreciated. Also, how easy is it to replace the clutch accumulator? My pedal is stiff when cold, but as soon as the engine fires the pedal is good. Any ideas?
  10. Taking my car in next week for the repair of the 2nd gear pop-out problem. I have an extended warranty on the car that will cover any problems. Other than the clutch and slave cylinder, anything else I should have the dealer look at? My rear spoiler also gets the warning light but seems to work as it should. Any tips on this as it supposedly isn't covered by warranty.
  11. How do you check it? Remove and replace?
  12. I have been stumped by this one. My 2002 turbo xenon headlights don't come on but all other light functions are good. When I flash the high beams they come on. The other night I flashed my high beams and the xenons came on for a minute and went out again. Any thoughts?
