  1. it is possible but will be a hassle + PCM 2.0 and PCM 2.1 (your car will not take the latest ones - PCM3 and PCM 3.1) dont have ipod connections so you are then looking at anouther $300-400 for ipod connector on top of pcm kit which has separate headunit and cd changer. just put a 3rd party unit in, will get more functionality than oem pcm will be cheaper and will look almost the same
  2. take a look, they are all the same http://shop.ebay.de/...3286.m270.l1313 no reason to pay anything above $60
  3. touareg connector number 1c0973119B 3-pin identical to Porsche so the rain sensor is 99.9% the same
  4. p.s. removing airbag is a real pain when you dont know how. took me a while but i now have voice-control for free (65 gbp for stalk with button) steering column switch.pdf
  5. give vin to a dealer he should be look up precise part and print the above picture to tell it could be ordered separately
  6. they come up depending on speed, rain, amount of light and are controlled by CAN network for speed, rain sensor (in fornt of rear view mirror on windshield), light sensor middle dashboard next to windshield.

  8. i dont know if they are an option in US but in Europe they are quite common. I just DYI installed one into my Turbo. They are manufactured by WEBASTO. here is one from Touareg http://cgi.ebay.co.u...713&mfe=sidebar DYI you are looking at about $1000 with used WEBASTO. for that dont buy non-Touareg webasto as generic WEBASTO has different control unit and WEBASTO will charge you $$ for control unit. I think new WEBASTO will be around $600 as a porsche part plus bunch of tubes. I bought almost identical (to link) WEBASTO from Touareg with all pipes and pumps/valves and installed it. if interested i can write down what you need. you will need somebody with PIWIS to code it at the end.
  9. interesting conversation. I just replaced oil pressure sender on my 996c4s 2003 and strangely at frist it read 5 even at idle. (no i didnt accidentally swapped wires) only after i took car for a test drive and revved it up to (almost) redline pressure started showing 3-5 depending on revs and around 2 at idle. is this normal?
  10. if frame is not bent too much (local body shop will get it for you) and suspension/steering is intact the rest is not that problematic. look at the list of main body parts so call it $5k for body parts repair, you will need PIWIS for airbag repairs (they will be around $2k with all bits and pieces), headlight, pipes, radiator, you can get from e-bay, dismantlers, call it another $2k. worse case you can selll it for parts and get you $5k back tmp.fpi.pdf
  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230462481034&rvr_id=133971982409&mfe=sidebar same as touareg
  12. http://www.webasto.us/oem/en/oem_auto.html it is Auxiliary Heating System. i just had enough last winter of getting into -20c car in the morning so decided on this DIY project
  13. thanks, did it, cooling down now. lets see if it works. i installed webasto today and got a lot of air into the system. If it works like this what is the point of buying bleeding system?
  14. thank you . will try it now. what a bummer. what happens to air btw? how is air getting out? and till hot meaning 120? 100? till blows?
  15. i know where bleeder in my 996 but how to get rid of air in Cayenne? any help will be greatly appreciated. p.s. dont ask how it got there. thx
  16. it is not designed to be adjusted. of course everything is possible if you have a chain saw and duck tape
  17. minimum £1000 plus days of pain of forum searches (not this forum)/downloads/soldering or you can become porsche dealer and buy one legaly for about $20k plus some annual maintanance payments
  18. Cables with the electronics in the connector can be either first or second generation. If the cable has the light on the side that reads "Durametric," then it is a second generation interface cable and it is compatible. If the cable has the light on the side that reads "Enthusiast" or "Professional," then it is a first generation interface cable and not compatible. came from here http://www.durametric.com/versionhistory.aspx
  19. sorry for an obvious question but you are using version 2 of the cable? if yes you may find a lot more help from Durametric people if your functionality doesnt match the matrix on their website
  20. i have 2009 CT and coolant pipes were replaced due to leak at 25k km. so what do you think? do you think Porsche would fix obvious design problem in less than 5 years?
  21. not sure what "all park lights" mean but i think all it does it turns on/off low beam headlights under certain conditions (the way described in manual) and switches them off with or without delay when you lock the car
  22. ok, here is an update. bought used switch with "auto" setting (they are all the same Audi/Touareg/Polo etc but a lot chepaer than Porsche). 5 min to change and then enable with PIWIS comfort light and coming home function. works now. next mode is WEBASTO:)
