Shifting from N to D while driving?

Haha, definitely not because of the Toyota thing :D Just want to be able to rev the engine while moving, the reason I am nervous about doing it is that there is a small warning in front of the gear lever that says you shouldn't move the gear lever without holding the brake pedal down. -

I mean safe for the transmission. I don't plan on doing it while doing 60mph, but it could come in handy for revving the engine while driving slowly (only for the sake of making noise, not to spin the tires or anything) :P -
I have a 2003 C2 Tip, is it safe to shift to and from neutral (N) and drive (D) while the car is moving?

I have only driven the 911 and the S4, and they are both great cars, similar in power and both handle great (the Audi is a bit front heavy though), the thing that puts the 911 on top for me is the "exclusivity" of the brand. Having a Porsche is a lot cooler than just another Audi. I haven't driven the Benz, but to me it looks too anonymous and very few Mercedes cars have great handling, plus it's a more feminine car than the other two.

Insurance cost

That seems about in line with the quote I got from Geico (which was about 5000$), that isn't too bad, in Norway I would have to pay almost double that amount, so it could have been a lot worse. -

Thnks for the tip, I thought you had to have an american social security number to get a quote, I will give it a shot -
I am planning to live and study in the USA (Santa Barbara) for a year (I currently live in Norway), and I have been looking at buying a 996 (probably a 1998 C2)while I am there. The only potential problem is insurance, I am 22 years old and not a US citizen, the car would probably only be used on weekends and not day to day, how much (ballpark figure) should I expect to pay in insurance? I can't get a quote from an insurer so I would love to know how much it costs.
