  1. Not really, if your scrapping everything you might have to tell the system by deleting the components with PIWIS. Sounds like an expensive job given that you will have to rewire most everything and lose steering wheel controls. I would swap the amp personally
  2. That does not sound good, head gasket, headers damaged, it would help if you could list the codes
  3. I remember someone in Eastern Europe. maybe Romania did it, it was a while ago so I know a replacement screen is possible. I cannot find the posts, someone else may remember. I seem to recall he took it apart to find the part number and found it pretty easy once he had it. Sorry i cant be of more help
  4. I think I would try to get a PIWIS reading on the system prior to buying anything, it may be able to pinpoint the AC Controller or specific failed servo's. Worth a couple of hundred $ because ripping out the servos is a PIA
  5. I think the hamsters start to run around when the controller gets confused as to what temperature blows where. Its hard to believe that all hamster driven servo's failed on one side, it points to a more central issue I feel. i think every output should be surveyed to make sure they are really off since the lower ones hardly blow at all
  6. It sounds like one of 2 things, either the servo's on the passenger or the AC control unit it dead or on its way out. On an 04 its highly lightly is the AC electronic head unit if its not already been changed there were many instances of bad ones
  7. Lower control are bushings, could a symptom be a click in turning slow following a high speed run ?
  8. Regarding 5, it can also be a sign that one of your horns has gone bad, another routine problem

  10. When you did the coolant pipes did you also do the T pipes behind them ?
  11. In a non Bose CDR23 going by the heat-sink on the back I would guess that's the only amp but I have not worked on one. Some of the more expensive third party units boast they can interface with the CAN bus. but it seems a stretch to me. You might be giving up on that I feel unless your going to pump a lot of money into it.

  13. Peter I have had an 04 from new, basically the same equipment as you. The Bose amp was a problem in the 04-06 MY and in a lot of cases was replaced under warranty. I have had misc no sound issues over the years, always solved by one or more cold boots. i.e. removed key from car, wait 5 minutes and then try again, that gives the system time to go back to sleep completely. I would say I get the problem every 6 months or so, never more often than that and it takes 1 or up to 4 reboots to get it back up. When it was under warranty I would take it to the dealer and got the NFF response everytime. As I said there are terminal issues also with the Bose where it just dies, if you cannot get it back on after reboots then its either the amp is dead or one of the fibre cables has worked its way loose (rare)
  14. If they rebalanced then the rims would appear ok UNLESS they did not road force balance them. that is essential on this car. Look for a shop with a Hunter RFB machine
  15. That being said expect a new shaft shortly if its the original one
  16. I don't think any V6's were built with 2 batteries, if it was, one would be under the sub woofer in the trunk. The engine starting is most certainly not battery related, sounds like a tuning issue. The Air Suspension Fault light is a little more serious, it can be as simple as a computer not starting up properly, but it can also be level sensors on the struts, with a lot of salt/gritted roads you might need to get the dealer to look at the error codes.
  17. I thought you had this running already ? Whent the car starts up it goes thru a boot sequence which powers up the MOST and CAN circuits. It could be that because the PCM is no longer present and is on its inventory the MOST is not starting up at all. If there is a MOST error it shows up on the PCM monitor which is no longer there. You might have to go to a dealaer and have them remove PCM from the inventory and put in CDR23 instead.
