  1. try multiple restarts it might just work in the morning, welcome the club
  2. Dont you still need some exhaust backpressure with a TT? No muffler at all? I think that would be very loud... perhaps not even legal...
  3. They know mine works, just that you have use the phone controls Talk to Scott, tell him I said so ahahah I use mine every day for many calls How does the phone work. Just like it was the SIM inside my PCM? Also how do you pair the phones does it somehow add in menu options to do this? On the ipod front I read something about it being able to get lots of song titles on the screen. how does it do this when its just pretending to be a CD changer. I have an 04 with Nav but no phone buttons and was wanting to add the ipod/bluetooth combo but when I spoke to mobridge they said it would not work. What did you need to make this happen on yours? thanks josh
  4. Looks exactly like mine with a different logo Thanks. So I'm guessing that having a phone module installed isn't a prerequisite and this bypasses it? I ask since my phone module is broken and rather than replace it may as well get this. Is there a switch in there to re-attach the CD changer. I think I read about this, but other docs on the mobridge site suggest it requires getting to the device and putting in a fibre optic loop back? Thanks for any help, Dan
  5. Correct no phone module required There is a lot of BS about whether the CDC can remain in circuit. The system does not expect to see 2 CDC's although it was in the original design. So if it sees 2 there can be conflicts. However with a Mobridge you dont need one as the iPod can supply limitless amounts of great sounding content. I removed mine and sold it on Ebay. I suggest you do the same as getting in there to loop it out is a pig of a job and you will not want to do it twice. Thanks. 6. On mine (04) with no phone buttons I use the phone controls. You pair it using a regular PCM custom menu On the Ipod you get 99 songs per screen the software fakes out the PCM, each CD is a different function instead of a different cd great sound, very solid How does the phone work. 7. I have Mobridge with Bluetooth, this is an endorsement. Very cool and DIY capable if your handy My Cayenne does not have that system. It has the regular audio system without navigation or lcd screen. I apologize for having not mentioned that in my previous post. Any options for me?
  8. Remove front screws from wheel well linings remove headlights remove screws underneath all the way across, some torx some crosshead Slide forward, release wiring for sensors dont drop it
  9. Thank you so much for this, I have had a compressor replaced (under warranty) and expect another before I am thru so this will help avoid that. Also look out for the struts on 04's, I had one blow up, that was expensive. Mike
  10. See if you can start to pry it apart, and unscrew the torx at the same time
  11. 1 - If the Dice is switched with the PCM then that is wrong. The Dice should have constant power in order for it to be ready when the MOST bus starts up and it can be recognised. 2 - sounds just inconsistent 3 - wow, do you mean on the display or there position in a song if your model is over 4 I would think battery maybe but other things would be going also, I am on my original battery still. if you can afford it I would switch to Mobridge
  12. Dealer is working on mine right now. Telling me the parts list has grown since the last time they did one. Expecting about $850, their quote.
  13. I have a one with Mercury Today the second major thing went wrong and again they denied the claim AGAIN. From this experience, I would put $4500 into a bank account (not stocks) and pay for the repair yourself, you will come out ahead. I If I had bought an extended warranty, I would have almost paid for it with a SINGLE repair. ONE REPAIR. If I did it over again, I would not have balked, even if it were 6k. If I get slammed with another repair over $3000 anytime soon, I'm going to claim it as a loss on insurance; after you calculate the value lost over the last year or so I figure buying the vehicle cost me $3000 per month in depreciation and repairs for 14 straight months.
  14. work done on mine at my dealer is not even available to Porsche. Dealers own computer systems vary widely in capability.
  15. What your describing is slightly different from the original writer. When you add a device like the Dice to the MOST network, timing the power up of the device is critical. If the Dice does not have a permanent power connection to it, when the car starts its pre flight the MOST circuit does not see the component and will throw the error. It takes a while after you shut the car off before all the systems shut down. I don't think its temperature related at all a coincidence maybe. I would check to make sure it has a non switched power supply so its primed and ready when the car systems come up. PIWIS / PST2 are Porsche shop testers (computers) used to do almost everything on the 30+ computers on the car. Its not your head unit. The DICE unit simulates a changer Not to familiar with the DICE unit, I use Mobridge. Not much discUssion on DICE i.e. not a good system
  16. Way No Without the tow package You will need the tow control unit, wiring harness and time to wire it thru. Also if your not using the OEM unit you will have to fabricate a mounting for the socket
  17. I doubt its the fluid, there is another cause of that. The boxes are sealed for life (i.e 240k)
  18. There was a message on the screen before that alert showed up It can include, Service Due, Trailer lights Failed, Fuel level Warning, in fact a lot of warnings try it again after a few hours and take a look. If it does not come on everytime, that could be the service now warning which does not come on every start http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st&p=125712
  19. I am hosting a group buy on Rennlist if anyone is interested, PM me
  20. PCMIII is a hard design as its so different. Dont expect a good third party design any time soon
