Hi, or try fvd brombacher,we have it on GT2(996),complete exhaust system(pipes,cats,muffler),and it sounds very nice,maybe too loud,really loud.I don't know for turbo996,but there are not much differences beetwen them.I don't know for power,because I installed a lot of stuff on the car together to increase power,but first we had on just muffler and cats,then later I added the pipes,and the sound was almost the same,only roughness changed. I come from country of akrapovic and here is no sign of 996 with that brand of exhaust,only 997.Maybe you could order the exhaust(akr.) in USA,they could do it for your car,but $$$ and $$$,a lot of them. :rolleyes: And the cats of both brands could easily be burned on track,and belive any other too after a 10 or more track days. sorry for my english

Hi, I tryed it again,but no differences.I drained the system,but didn't loose the hoses on radiator and forgot to open valves from heater.And I got 17liters of coolant in the system,so I think it is bleeded.The system capacity is 19,5 lit.,I think.The car has now new pump(was noisy),new tank and cap,half of hoses(were worn),thermostat,new radiators from begining(when we imported the car from US and repaired it),by the way-its like new. I did it like you said in your article,but I don't understand opening the cap when the temp. is above 70-75 deegres cel. In my case can't be opened,because there is too much of coolant loss.I did the bleeding up to 75deg.cel.,and than I left the cap closed.You can not force the airlocks to go out by that way(opening the cap)like wiht some other cars,not with boxster.Left the car with revs to operating temp.with heating on,valve open,everything is working fine.The circulating is good (102 deg.cel.when vents go on and drops to 97).I wait for few cycles and turned off,the level was fine in the tank.Next day I saw that level droped for few centimeters and when I opened the cap a few more-to MIN mark.I add 1 liter so,first day 16lit.and second day 1lit.Closed the bleed valve and went for few rides and everything is working fine.With no smoke,or misfire and coolant loss,normal temp.on guage.I drived normaly with some revs to 5000rpm. After 2 day when I opened the cap there was still pressure in tank,thats not normal.I will see what happens tommorow when I'll go for a ride.I still didn't get the snif test,but I will take the engine out and do the headers job and everything else with our friend mechanic-worked in factory on engines.And will check the spark plugs again tommorow.I'm 100% sure that the gaskets are bad. I will report when the job is done for results,some time is needed because of work with other cars. thanks again sorry for my language

  5. Hi,I am just asking if you solved your problem,did baterry helped,I trying to fix a Cayenne V6(US)for my friend,and the car have the same symptoms. The same thing happened to me,twice in one day(now for three days nothing),there was a warning on cluster- Brake proportioning,ABS light,PSM light on,check engine,Four wheel drive locked,and unable to move from P.Both times the message occured when I turned the key to contact position,before the car starts. And still could start the car.By turning the ignition off and on again, the message resets.When I connect the car with PST2 the codes never ends. DME:P0413,1605,1614,1610,1608,1601,1613,0571,1182,0074,0414,1606,0503,0565 and U0129,U0104. TRANSFER CASE:P0778,1315,1336,1317,1316. others modul too,It reports that CAN connection between the moduls failed,most of codes are not present,no signal/no communication.There is code for transfer control box which was present,no signal when they occured.The codes can be erased,and they do not show again.Looks like CAN wiring problems.After reset everything is normal,but I know it is not for long. There are codes which can not be erased-INSTRUMENT CLUSTER:1299 GATEWAY present and ????(forgot)PCM2 present no signal/no com.)I think here is my problem,in car is installed an aftermarket radio-navigation,phone,camera unit from blaupunkt,and is not connected properly,or can't be.No CAN with cluster,I don't know.And GATEWAY I think it's coming from one of door locks,I don't know too.And multifunction steering wheel is working with radio but no display from radio on cluster.Before the car worked fine for two months with us. So did you connect your car with computer,or did battery helped with your case, I think mine is not the battery,but I have a small voltage with engine off,around 12.And no fault code :load managment... sorry for my english thanks

  7. Hi I still didn't get the parts(2 hoses),than I'll bleed the system again,I will post for results. I tryed everything what I found here on forum,also I red the article from you(Wayne),I checked the plugs(they are all the same colour),no misfires with 400km,oxygen sensors are good tested with PST2,tailpipe no marks for coolant burning-I think, Is there some other ways to analize bad head gasket in my case,before tearing the engine apart or without pressure test at porsche dealer.There is no oil coolant mixing,but there is pressure in cooling system at high rpm on road.before that driving with broken vent tube,the cooling system worked perfectly, so probably it is head gasket. any ideas would be really help for me sorry for my english thanks

Hi,I have bleed the car once by your procedure and there is no differences,there is leaking by the right rear wheel but it was leaking from overflow hose from top of the tank,after it leaks I hear pressure coming out from the tank cap and the trunk is dry,and there is still enough coolant -on min or little above the mark on tank.I tryed with other venting clip valve,no differences.Is it possible there is something cracked inside the tank? sorry for my english thanks
  9. hello,we have a boxster 2.5 98,we bought it from US,little damadged and now repaired.Actually my cousin drives the car.When we did the car,we put on a new radiators,half of hoses,used coolant tank,new cap and bleed the system properly with new coolant.The car worked fine for 3000km until the venting hose from oil cooler to tank cracked,and he :clapping: drove the car for another 1 hour with coolant on min or less and temp.light flashing.He said the temp.never raised above 8 of 180 or less on the cluster and light was flasing all the time and was not staying on. :clapping: So I changed the hose and bleed the system properly(did it many times),and changed new cap.And the system circulate from 102,103 to 97deegres cel. on PST2,seems fine.You can drive the car for hours with normal driving(up to 5000rpm max) and everything is fine, but when you go on highway or open road and rev the car up to 6000rpm for a few times,the coolant leaks from the cap.Seems like too much pressure,and bad head gasket.again it was bleeded properly and new water pump was added.No coolant oil mix,no smoke,no temp.raising,normalpower.Bad head gasket at exhaust and coolant mix,or is there any other possibilites.Help would be :welcome: ...thank you luka

Try 7593 or 7591 Hi Loren,only for stats,codes didn't work,10 codes up and 10 down like faq says,I will go to dealer. thanks anyway How did you get the serial number by the method in the FAQ? or from some other document? it is on sticker on the radio,but others are damadged.will try again tommorow with buttons for number.but I_did try few times before.thx Hi,I did get the serial number from radio now-it's the same like that one on radio,and was able to get model nr. R2595 just in case for other code. thx Sorry, I think you will need to talk to a dealer or Becker. ok I will report you what I'll get Hi,my buttons up and down-seek wasnot working until today when I tryed again few times.the car stood for 2-3years maybe that was the reason.the code was 7594. :renntech:

  15. Hi Loren,please help I got a 986 1998 US with CDR-210,with no code and looked into DME, with PST2-no code. Serial number W5018983 I couldnt find a model nr., found on radio-2282B50W5018983,if helps. others are damadged. I read the faq,but it wont come out of the radio(model nr.) part nr. on radio starts with 993.???others damadged Thank you anyway

Hi,I had the same problem with 2 cars.In first case was 964 and one of hoses(with flow) was broken,and was leaking when the car was running,small leak.Second case was 2 993's,no leak anywhere,couple weeks of driving solved the problem,somebody splited the oil around the filling neck,and takes some time to burn it from places you can't wipe by hand.Clean and observe. I am not an expert sorry for my english B)
  17. Hi,if you plan to wash the car before storage,after you wash it, do a few miles with normal braking to clean the rotors.No need to rust.If you have normal brakes. :)

Hi,we bought a lot of cars in US,which was repaired in US,guys who repaired the cars bought a lot of parts there,mostly control arms,cross members,struts,steeringparts,wheels.I have seen a lot of these parts myself,acctualy have to repair repaired cars if it was possible -when cars was fixed with bad cross members. and parts was not damadged with transportation. :) sorry for my english
  19. Hi,I had a cayenne S 04 with PCM 2,and external hand set(numbers) was not working when was on phone mode. I have PST2, and was trying to code external hand set for phone to present,before and later was no fault text,and than:no sound on any mode,rotary buttons not working,buttons was not working only ON/OFF,display worked.And on steering wheel was working mute button and note button. I connected the car with computer and start looking for mistakes on settings and codings.First when I tryed to do the test on 'most component units list' the units was not recognized, only PCM MMI was found, and most required and most actual unit list was unequal.then I entered the devices that was never entered PCM gateway,navigation,cd changer,phone and made the unit lists equal, but when I did the MOST COMPONENT TEST again the lists was unequal again only devices was entered correct now.I was changing the settings all day and did the coding as it should be basic on car,every setting tryed for 5 times,all day the same.I then I tryed to do the lists match for 6th time, and some scratching came out from speakers,I turned off and on the radio and sound was working,buttons to,everything started to work,at least,phone and navi too.before didn't work.Now everything is working for one week and I hope it will stay that way. No logic,,The PCM was not the first one,was changed in 2006,and no coding or bad coding was made with computer,maybe that was the problem,and when I connected the car everything colapsed.I don't know. sorry for my english
  20. Hi,I think this is for steering fluid-presure line,but not sure.Need to do place around to change it,if is cracked,and maybe low the engine down,no place for tools.

Hello, we own GT2 2002 (US) and all I can say that <<this is GT2>> :) THe car is not made for city,and you must be hard on him,hard clutch,rubbering the tyers when turning on low speed(we did all the traction adjustment and weight adjustment on every tyre),always some strange noises from the rear achse usually when you are parking the car,can't drive on low RPM,the car must be hot to run normaly, but all we can do is avoid city's and slow roads, so go fast. Check around turbos-hoses for any bad air leaking. sorry for my english
