  1. You can always install a dipstick but it is getting expensive... See links: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-forum/867165-996gt2-tt-dipstick-conversion.html
  2. Yes there are a lot of threads about this failure... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/218729-fuel-pump.html https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/219788-fuel-pump-fuel-pump-fuel-pump.html https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/180764-fuel-pump-system-exposed-couple-pictures.html
  3. Are you sure it is a cover? Can it be a fine mesh compartment filter replacing the snorkel on a TT.... Hard to see on all the pictures I've found...
  4. You are looking at a blank cap that goes in this location instead of the funnel on a TT ? I went through the Parts cat, Pets and online could not found it...Last hope is Loren 😉
  5. When the technology is good and proven why not reuse it! Indeed this engine is a technological beauty ... My only concern is the cold start growling ..... But we should start a new thread for this one or continue and old one from 2008!!! 😉
  6. If you follow the vacuum line from the cycle valve (N75)#44 you will see it split in two #38 (near the top of the oil tank), and goes to the waste gate on both side. I cannot answer your question about the term N75 because the first time I've learn of the existence of this term was on the TT forum....I used it after 😉 No experience with Audi.... One day a guy came to my place with overboost problem and I immediately went to this cycle valve and found it disconnected from the intake...
  7. This is the valve that control the waste gate and it is sometimes called the N75. The parts catalog call it the cycle valve and the part# is 996 605 155 00
  8. Amazing, never saw this type of battery for a car...Being a retired aircraft mechanic my only concern is what happen with the lithium battery on the Boeing Dreamliner....Keep us inform, how would like to know , on a long term, how satisfied you are! Thanks, J.P.
  9. Excellent information thanks a lot to both of you!!!! Giving me another thing to do this winter! My car is in storage starting the first of november ;-(
  10. Welcome! I really like when a discussion topic is closed with a solution to a problem...
  11. I've receive an answer from a PST2 sellers and specialist on Ebay, Mike, and here's his answer about this error message with the PST2.... "That error is because the URI hardware module does not have the porsche special firmware; the firmware needs to be updated. I would not worry about it, since you're better off testing resistance with a hand-held multimeter. Some users burned out or damaged the motherboards when they tried to test continuity on live circuits, and unlike the PIWIS testers, the PST2 does not have fuse protection."
  12. Thats really interesting and good to know! Can I ask exactly which one you had to replace spooltime or which one you suggest JFP ?..I'm guessing #28 on this parts cat? Thanks for the info
