  1. Great review I had the same problem on mine...they didn't fit like an OEM so I had to adjust them. Now all that remains is to splice a wire so that the rear fog lights come on when u hit the break. The LEDs are not that bright (shouldn't blind anymore) if anything these LED rear fogs should make it more safe by letting people see you breaking earlier.
  2. Any headlight parking lamp bulbs out there that match more closely to when the litronic HIDs are turned on? I noticed when I turn on my litonic bulbs, the parking lamps beneath are still a bit of an amber, was hoping for something more of a match to the HIDs. Parking light =daytime running lights? Try White LED lights, I got mine off of Ebay. I'm specifically talking about the lights on the litronics that turn on when you turn the headlight switch one click to the right. I believe they're some kind of standard bulb. Yeah, I believe those are the same as what Im talking about, they're 64132 type bulb I got something like this off ebay...it matches with 6000k white...if your xenon is bluer like 8000k range than they will not match http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-BAX9S-...sQ5fAccessories Or just google the bulb type and see what clear ones turn up
  3. Thanks!!! :clapping: Well time now to get modding lol :D I didn't spot a "rear fog light to brake light conversion" I guess it's all about figuring out which wire is the fog-which is brake and then connecting the other one to the side fog light that doesn't normally come on....then after that its

  5. oh awesome thanks for the link, now I know..."adds it to do list" Since gonna mod the lights, Is there a DIY on the (rear fog light conversion to daytime running light) and (side marker conversion to turn signal)?
  6. Hey all, I was looking at the clear litronic headlight of a boxster (don't know model year...maybe 03?) and realized something different -The turn signal area which is amber in my clear litronic headlight was clear on this unit Is there a model year for the clear litronic headlight (97-04) that have a clear turn signal area? I'm sure his bulb was some sort of amber LED and I think its against the law to use white turn signals (even though I see them on BMWs around Boston all the time)...So long story short I'm just wondering...looks like a clean mod to do.
  7. I have these in chrome too, got them off of ebay for about $200 (for that much I figured i give it a try) and i found that while the lights work great, they did not sit as flush to the contour of the car as the OEM did. By this i mean, there was a 1cm gap between where the body curve meet the light curve. What I ended up doing was filing the inner light housing it better so that it sat better in area for it...aka I made it fit. Now I just have to wire it so the fogs come on when breaking like Bristol did.
  8. I painted the door lids silver alum. New ones at suncoast cost more than a dealership oil change... Wasn't that hard 1.) Unhinged it - took it out 2.) Sanded it to get the coating off. Sandpaper at any autoshop 3.) Washed it dried it 4.) Painted with metalic silver spray paint , I simply chose a color that look nice to me *three coats* Spray in one direction and look to see if any bubbles formed 5.) finished up with clear gloss top coating spray paint *three coats* 6.) wait like a full day before reinstalling the lid, cause it was easier to take lid off then put on...you gotta jamm it in there against the door. If you attempt to put it back on too soon the "young" paint will get dammaged easily in the process.
  9. The article is still up, copy paste link then remove the spaces in between the letters within "a s s" here is the gist of the article "By Stephan Wilkinson November 7, 2008 - 3,804 views Are you aware of the appalling rate of Boxster engine failures, which I’m only now becoming aware of through participation in some Boxster forums? Some estimates (Bruce Anderson, for one) are that 20 percent of Boxster engines don’t make it past 100,000 miles witout a catastrophic failure. The standard failure is what the cognoscenti universally refer to as the IMS–the intermediate shaft. It’s apparently bolted together, and the bolts fail, then everything internal claps hands and you’re looking at a replacement crate engine. I’m hoping the fact that Susan never revs past maybe 4,000 will spare us, but I’d be careful if I were you. There was a recent Porsche Club event that 11 Boxsters participated in. One had an IMS failure during the event and two of the other Boxsters participating had previously had their engines replaced due to IMS failures. Three out of 11 equals 27 percent. It’s a quiet secret within the Porsche community, and there are reasonably knowledgeable people who claim these engines were built as cheapies to get through the warranty period unscathed–which the apparently often don’t–and that PAG hasn’t the faintest interest in second, third and fourth owners. And they used to say the entry-level Porsche was a used Porsche."
  10. Hmmm, Interesting article if not somewhat disturbing...as high as 20%? wow Anyone here suffered any IMS failures? www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wild-a s s-rumor-of-the-day-porsche-boxster-engine-failures/ hmmm link doesn't work cause the word "a s s" is blocked by forum's settings, well copy and paste the link to your address bar and eliminate the spaces in "a s s" lol IMS FAILURES
  11. Hey can anyone help me identify this spoiler and where I may get one. I like it :D Thanks!
  12. I think I read somewhere that the reason here in the U.S. they left it so that only one side is on is to steer away from the mis-impression of "braking" for other drivers when you run ur rear fogs (that is if both were on)
  13. Hey I don't have one of these but was thinking about getting one...other than the peeling do you have any other complaints about yours? Is there any fit/allignment issues such as the spoiler not sitting fully in when down so that dirt and debrie get in there? thanks
  14. yes that's what I thought too till a mechanic told me otherwise-...sure prob. not gonna go to him to put them in once I get the litronics ha. Thanks
  15. hey everyone, sorry if this has been covered before but i just been told there is a wiring configuration difference between litronics for carerra/boxster 99-04 (with a nozzle) & those without? Is there? Im trying to swap out halogens on a 01 boxster S with litronics & dont want to get a pair of litronics that arn't compatible. Thanks for any info
  16. Thats good to know! Thanks!, *puts LED* on list of mods :D
  17. Hey trieullionaire Where did you purchase the LEDs from? I spotted these on ebay and liked the looks of them...just don't know about the quality <_< though for that price... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...898704&rd=1
  18. Looks great! :D I'm gonna have a go at mine then instead of pay $150 minimum or $500+ for a new one...only problem I forsee already is removing the center console
  19. Looks like your tail lights are LED too, was that a mod too?
  20. did you get that new interior from somewhere or did you redid it yourself? looking nice
  21. Oh ok, thats good to hear I read somewhere here on this forum that below 180 should be the normal temp. readout so I got worried definately not letting the stealers replace the whole fan unit for 200+ then
  22. For me - They replaced 2 seals (name begins with an O ring) Seemed to have stopped it for 3 months till now. Thinking back - I think the RMS leak started for me shortly after my family member filled the car up with regular unleaded instead of 93....hmmm but I don't know for certain, could just be a coincidence seeing as how many RMS leaks there are
