  1. Still trying to find time between my brother and I to continue. The wife and I decided to keep it red but upgrade to some polished or chrome Fuchs to replace the BBS wheels currently on it. She likes the combo and so do I.

  5. Thank you, I'll give it a try. I checked eBay today but only found an old used one that needs to be prepped & painted for around $20 US in Portland, Oregon. I'll send it my local Porsche dealer for a price, though I'll get a good laugh as I'm sure it will be pricey compared to ebay!

  7. I was wondering where I could find this door? My old one cracked at the hinges and can't be used again. Since I'll paint the car in the future, I'm not picky on finding a Guards Red color one. I'm not sure if this part is called something else and that is why I'm having a hard time locating it. I hope I don't need to find another old beat up Porsche fender to get it.
  8. That's good. I'm going to send mine too. I figured that mine is a European model and not a US model last night. I think I recall the previous owner bringing it over here from Russia but didn't believe him at the time. Only 1868 made in 1976. And it's a 911 coupe not a S model thought my registration insurance papers say its a 911E. Weird.
  9. How much do these go for? Do they carry this still for our model year? I'm amazed that the dealer still has publications for our cars.

  11. Thanks for the info. I just got it towed over to my home today from my parent's garage. Been sitting there all these years, so I'm sure they're happy to gain the extra room back! My brother and I are going to go over it next and make a list of what needs to be done. Fluids of course are number one!

  13. That is the best explanation I've found as well for my '76. Hard to find since the numbers are much shorter than current numbers. But now I know the number I have recorded is too short! Need to look at my car again and write it down again!

  20. Looks pretty good for $14K. I agree, I see many local older cars asking for more than $14K. I would suggest getting it checked out still. It's still $14K of your own hard earned cash, correct? :)

  22. I believe the car is a 911s or coupe as per my searches on the VIN number online. I think the previous owner installed the turbo flares and tail. I know there are many things that probably need to be looked at like tires, fluids and etc. I used to depend on my brother, but I think I'll need to learn some basics to do it myself and get professional help when needed. Just needed some guidance to make a list and slowly get it back on the road. Thanks.
  23. Hi guys, I hope you all can help me with some guidance. My brother used to be the 'go-to guy' but now that he's moving to Detroit, I need to either do some stuff myself or pay someone else. It's a 76 911S turbo wide body. The car has been sitting for 15 years. Before this, I drove it and close to home it stopped running. Had to get it towed. My brother thinks it had something to do with the gaskets being worn. He never was able to check, so could be anything. My question here is to ask everyone their suggestions for a list I'm compiling of things to get done to get the car road ready. New battery most likely, etc... I'm planning to insure it and drive it once a week, like a Sunday driver until it gets totally restored. Thanks in advance.
