  1. I think so, anyone have an idea of the year?
  2. My inlaws are from Colombia and my wifes grandfather raced in the first rallys in Colombia. He raced Jaguars, Porsche, and Allards. Here is a pic, can you help me identify the exact car?
  3. I only replaced the passenger side elastic band, and 3 months later the driver's side was having the same problem. If you do this fix, go ahead and replace both sides while you are at it. The nice thing is three months later, the original fix is still working.
  4. This worked well for me as well, I followed pnerger's instructions and the tops works perfectly now.
  5. Going back to the original post, I have a similar situation with my car. My driver's side rear wheel bearing was making a very annoying squealing sound and I replaced it, placed new ties on the car, and had it aligned. Still there is a high speed vibration that come on about 80 mph. Any ideas? I have a 2001 Boxster, stock.
  6. The same sequence of events happened on my car. I had a 0430 code pop up, that eventually went away after I cleared it. Then, an 1128 and 1130 popped up and I did the oil cap check. Sure enough, there was an air leak. I replaced the AOS and I haven't had any problems since (1500 miles ago). Now I am waiting for a RMS or IMS disaster...
  7. Now when you say that there is a bad cat, does that mean both of the 2nd bank cats are bad, or is it usually one or the other?
  8. First post to the Board, thanks in advance... I have a 2001 Boxster that just gave me a check engine light. I took it to Autozone and an isolated P0430 error code popped up. I have no other problems with the car, perhaps a minimal occasional rough idle. I read all there is on multiple boards on this error, and it seems the consensus is that the O2 sensors are fine and that it is an isolated catalytic converter issue. Now, I have several questions: 1) Could this still be an O2 sensor problem? I have yet to reset the code, and will see if it comes back. If so, should I even bother to change them? It seems that they have a life-span of 30,000 miles? Is this what most people experience? 2) If it does end up being the cats, do I replace both of them, or it usually one or the other? That is do I change both the primary and secondary cats? 3) Has anyone had experience with used cats? I priced them and there are FAR more reasonable than new.
