  1. First of, welcome to the community. I live out in Summerlin and just recently joined PCA to try an take advantage of some of the local knowledge. There is a meeting coming up that features a Maguire's rep to demonstrate the different ways to detail, etc.. Still ckecking to find a time when there is a track day (would really like to see what this car can REALLY do sometimes).----risking it out on 215 is just not smart. Last thing I need is the wife to ask why the car was impounded for going 100+ As for joining PCA....all you have to do is join the national PCA at PCA.org and you are automatically joined into the local chapter as well (no local dues--very nice). I just got my first local newsletter. Did you buy your 996 from the dealer?
  2. I didn't even realize that you were from LV! Are you a PCA member? I just recently joined and have kept my eye out for the next local PCA meeting. By the way, ARE YOU TOTALLY OFF YOUR ROCKER CALLING THE LOCAL DEALER??? I am guessing you were either (1) just checking for the heck of it--or for a good chuckle-- or (2) never have done business with their parts guys. Gaudin's parts desk is WAY OVERPRICED. I have bought NOTHING from them. Spent nearly $10K on misc upgrades over the last couple years and every time I tell my service guy about it and he says the same thing every time......"we bring it up to them but they don't seem to care that most people are buying from other dealers". They will not ever entertain the notion of price matching. Oh yeah, if you are a PCA member....are you active in the local chapter? Dell
  3. $2K??? Good lord that is pricey for a DIY. You CAN get it for 1500 or less (Sunset, Suncoast, B-Wine, etc.). What do you mean no shipping charge from Germany? BTW, did the dealer change the price? You originally stated 1600...now $2K?
  4. A must have for highway driving but like Rob said 340 is a bit high. I have seen them sub-200 on eBay. If you have the time, be patient. If not, you may have to pay a bit more for quick conenience. Dell
  5. Tony, they are HiLite Industries Superwhite Xe bulbs (H7 12V 55W) Says on the package that they are simulated "7000K HID look" whatever that means? Dell
  6. extrememly difficult. I is a multiple person job and something that should be left to the dealer. Pricey, but worth it. Trust me, I have been doing research on this :( Dell
  7. tony, you are right, ALL the bulbs are H7. My CAB is a MY00 and I replaced the low beam and fog lights with H7 and it is as close as I can get to looking like the xenon litronics. Better than that yellow stuff!
  8. installed? If yes, then a good deal. If not, then close. Like everybody said, you can get it for 1500 or less if you do the shopping. But......sometimes the extra $100 is well spent to "appease" the dealer.
  9. Thanks TP! That is exactly the problem I was having. Not really a problem, but more of a pain in the tail. Oh well.
  10. TP, why do you like this one better? I got the PCar one through sunset for $15 and it looks identical. Is there a difference? Dell
  11. there are places that make/sell sport seat conversion kits where you just re-do the top part of your seat like you are asking. However.......it's costly. Better off just grapping a set of sport seats off eBay and live without the full power functionality of reg seats.
  12. I 2nd the PSE. The most beautiful sound I have ever heard. Haven't listened to the radio since I installed PSE!
  13. Thanks P, I will check into these. I can't seem to find anthing in the local auto parts stores. Dell
  14. What can be done to get the "yellow" looking parking lights to match the litronic xenon's??? I never really notcied it till now how the litronics have such a clear white beam and the side bulbs are yellow. BTW, I replaced the amber side markers with the clear side markers so now it really magnifies the problem. Suggestions??? <_<
  15. I would say if the H20 is touching your rocker panel, STOP!!!!
  16. Those 405 wheels are sweet! But that rod antenae...YACK!!!
  17. You can get superwhites from $5 to $100 depending on who you buy them from and how much of a markup there is. Sounds like a ripoff to me (anything over about $40).
  18. Thank God somebody figured this out! Thanks Don. I hate the way my CAB looks w/o all 4 windows up. Problem solved :D ps. to answer your ?, I did not know this either (obviouisly from my reply). WAY TO GO!
  19. That is what I was afriad of. Sounds like a dealer required assistance. Maybe TP or Loren are familiar with this? Usually the problem is the other direction (top won't open all the way since the housing gets caught on the flaps). First time I have heard this one. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
  20. You are trying to raise back up to the closed position correct? Windows go up, light is on.......does the rear housing release from the body so the top is now visible?
  21. No picture. But I notice in your picture that there is no 5W40. I will see what the 5W40 says next time I pop in to the auto store.
