  1. Hi, Does anyone have the torque specs for the transmission cross member (support) for an 05 Turbo. Thanks in advance
  2. Good question, I just filled up with a litre of oil, and it usually needs it every 2-3 fill ups. I replaced the plenum (IPD) and noticed the oil as well. I'm not sure how much burning is normal, but I assume the turbos bleed some oil. I will ask the dealership how much is normal, and oil in the intake system is normal as well. Will post when I found out.
  3. So are you saying there is an AUX in on the PCM? Where is it and what version of SW do I need. I assume you are making a cable for this input. Is this a hardline in or FM Modulated? Is there a way to hook up a charger? Cheers
  4. It's killing me but no winter won't let go. We got over a foot of snow in under 12 hours last Sat. and it's not all gone yet. I can't wait so for now I'm doing some engine enhancements. I'll post one I put them on.
  5. Just got a quote locally for $850 + tax. My only concerns are: will it wear out the engine/turbos faster, and what happens if the dealer finds out and nulls my warranty.....
  6. Mine came with bulbs, and they are very bright. You can't even tall they're clear makers due to yellow bulb.
  7. Mine was the water pump (what every that is ;) ), had it replaced under warranty.
  8. So Aviator, It's been a year now, how has the truck been with the upsolute chip, any issue, still pull? Thanks in advance, Bob
  9. I bought the roof rails for the pepper off another Canadian a while back and just got to install them today. It's uber easy and took about 30 minutes. The former owner gave me the screws to mount as well, but in reading the Porsche TSB; it said to always replace the screws so I got new ones from the dealer. They have a blue loc-tite type coating on them to lock them in place so I thought better safe than sorry. I started by cleaning the surface of the truck with a micro-fibre towel Each one of the holder thingies has lettering on it which corresponds to where they go (letters out) The positioning is as follows: vR-Front, Right mL-Center, Left hL-Rear, Left vL-Front Left mR-Center, Right hR-Rear, Right Put the back (rear) ones in first Then put the rail over the holders and secure with screws. 6.5 Ft. Lbs. torque, and tighten the rear one first Same for the other side and your done. Don't put any load on them for a while so the loc-tite stuff can cure Once tighten, use the plugs to fill the holes, they just push in. They go in this order: Long-rear, medium-middle, short-front. I just like the lines so much better with these on.....

  11. Really easy job to change, but FYI, I replaced my bulb (right) and no go right away. It turns out it was the little "holder" the bulb fits in then it goes into the housing. If the bulb does not work right away get a new holder. Good luck
  12. very nice wheels you've got, I love them. what tires are going to use with them? are these 10" wide. They are 9.5" and I will be mounting my N-Spec summer tires (I can't remember what they are but the dealer put new rubber on when I got the truck)
  13. Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and it's a beautiful 15F here today :D
  14. Nice wheels. I'll bite... why do you have to wait three months to put them on? Some sort of white rain seems to have accumulated on the ground, and even though the sun is out, I seem to turn a little blue when going outside in shorts and a T-shirt :D
  15. I stumbled upon these wheels from another enthusiast and got a smokin deal. I put one on the scale and it came it at 23.5 Lbs which I'm sure is way lighter than the Sport Technos (which will be for sale soon). They are Champion Motorsport RS98 20" with Ralph Boothe center caps, the bad part is I still have to wait three months to put them on....that's Canada for you.....
  16. Hi, I just received some new wheels I bought from a fellow in Cali. I got a smokin deal and he even paid for shipping (what a great guy). They were as advertised so I am very pleased. I was looking for black ones, but I couldn't pass these up. They are Champion Motorsport RS98's and on my scale they come in at 23.5 Lbs, which I have to believe is way lighter than the Sport Technos (Which will be for sale soon :D ). Now I just have to wait 3 months to put them on the truck, but hey that's Canada for you...
  17. Hi, I have a line on some new wheels and I wanted to know if my current tires would fit. I can't remember the size but I think they are the factory 255/55/20's and I have 10" wheels now. The new wheels are 20 x 9.5 and I wanted to know if the tires would fit? Thanks in advance, Bob
  18. Cool post. The trick with sand is you have to drop the tire pressure, drop all 4 down 5 lbs and try again, then once out use the built in pump to fill them up; you kind of need to float over sand not get bogged down in it. Cheers
  19. I'd bet a big steak on bad ignition coils. Many, many people have had the same issue (me included). Your truck is under warrant so just take her in a should be back to normal after the coil change.
  20. Deep question; it depends on what condition, shape, and repairs have been done to the car before you buy it. If everything is well taken care of expect the car to last many many years as there are some very high Km/Mile cars out there. If you can do most of the work yourself costs are minimal, and the main thing is oil changes which is easy to do. These cars use a lot of oil and as such develop leaks over time, some small some not. Lower valve covers, return tubes, oil sender are just a few of the many areas that are common for leaks. As stated get books and start reading, the Bentley Manual is probably the best for DIY's. My recommendation would be find a well sorted, well documented car and anticipate keeping $2000 in reserve each year for unexpected issues. Valves, top end, tranny and clutch issues can add up quick. My thirty year old car is unreal; drive it daily, take it to the track, and it's rock solid, but I do need to track down a small leak ;) Happy hunting.
  21. Nevermind I found the instructions in the TSB section. It does say the Sport Design package is not for vehicles with mud flaps. If anyone has them a picture would be nice. Thanks :D
  22. Hi, Looking at side skirts for my 05 turbo, I found I like the Tequipment ones the best. I wanted to know if anyone has them or has installed them and if they have pictures. I also wanted to know if they are compatible with mud flaps, or if the mud flaps would need to be removed? Thanks in advance,
