  1. Hope you were able to do it over the holiday weekend. How did it go? Easy enough for the general DIYer?
  2. Yeah, i already read jpflip's and mikelly's reports and DIY's. It looks like i'll have to pump the pedal more than 25 times and then bleed out most of the excess fluid before i even start to unscrew anything. Along with having a few rags stuffed up around the accumulator to catch any spraying fluid. Though I am still thinking that the 3-4 hours shop time might be worthwhile since that will only equate to $500+parts. Thought the satisfaction of doing it yourself may outweigh that. I am still trying to figure that one since it sounds like it might be more of a headache than satisfying.
  3. Ya, looks like it'll be a tough one, but with the DIY on here, i think it'll be possible. Since it is the winter, i can't drive the car anyway!! :(
  4. Cool, thanks, that is what I needed. I guess since i have the accumulator, I might as well change it when I pull out the slave. Can't wait to be doing this project on jackstands in my garage... ;)
  5. I guess that is where i am confused. The number of depressions until I get a rise in pedal resistance is 0. It immediately gets tough. According to that then the accumulator is NOT faulty? Why does it instantly get tought to press?
  6. I am having trouble determining if I need a Clutch Slave, Accumulator, or both. When I shut the car down, the pedal goes immediately stiff. I also noticed that I have some fluid coming from the front reservoir and the pedal feels notchy and does not have as much assist if you go quickly. I purchased a new accumulator and it looks relatively easy to change, but the slave looks like a PITA. I was thinking of just changing the accumulator to see if that helps, but I am thinking that it is both and I might as well just do them both at the same time. Can anyone give me a definitive answer on what I need? Thanks in advance, Dennis
  7. Quick question. People talk about upholstery shops. Where the heck are they? :) Am i looking for a furniture shop, a automobile shop? I've never seen something like that in my travels, though I have not been looking. Thanks!!
  8. 1. Talk to your tuner. They should be able to supply a lower boost program. Or just flash back to stock. (sounds like you need a flash loader.) Ahh, I didn't know I could load a different program on there with a flashloader. I'll have to call up Evoms before this spring to get myself set up on that. Thanks!
  9. I heard the same as above and I think that is why the majority of people do not have EBC's. On a related question, does anyone know of a way to temporarily lower your boost? I want to take my car to the track but would prefer to be at .6 or so bar instead of the 1.2bar I am at now (GT28 turbos). Without an EBC that is?
  10. Yeah, i have the same problem on the dask and the gauge surround. Doesn't really bother me at the moment, but it may in the future. If it cracks then I think i'll have to get it fixed.
  11. I just logged in today and noticed that when i open a post, the replies are threaded below and I have to click on each individual reply instead of having everyhing open at once and just ahving to scroll down. Is this a change on the site or on my compupter somehow? I went into the control panel and can't seem to find an option to change that view. Any ideas? FOUND IT!! Sorry about that!!! Please disregard. Though I have no idea how the Options part changed????
  12. Did it have an option for the self dimming mirror with homelink?? Mine is not working anymore and is constantly dark, though I love the dimming feature on my other cars!!!
  13. Do you believe that the shock could have been damaged if it was left in the 'zero' position and run like that? I believe they only have about 3000 miles on them or so. I'll have to get some time to call bilstein. Work work work... :(
  14. Hi! Not an expert, but I do have PSS10s and this does not sound at all like mine. How much drop do you think they went for? Perhaps you are hitting the stops. Just a guess. Yeah, i originally thought that since i couldn't fit my finger in between the tire and fender, so I had them raised .5" and can now fit a finger between the tire and fender with 26" tall tires. The ride did get better but the bounce is still there. When I got the car, they were set on full stiff (past 10 where the dial won't turn anymore), i've heard this can damage them??
  15. I purchased a car with PSS10's on it a few months ago and I get some major bounce with the front on the highway. I've tried adjusting them to full soft, full stiff, front full soft/rear stiffer etc... but the bounce persists. It seems like the rebound isn't there at all on the shock and thefront end will pop up really high over certain rolling bumps on the highway. Is this normal? How can i tell if they are shot and am I SOL if they are less than 1 year old but the ownership of the car has been transferred? thanks in advance, Dennis
  16. Hi Wolfgang, I have the exact same problem that you described in the opening post. Just curious to know if you ever tried replacing the relay and if that fixed the problem. I know this thread is over 3 years old but I found it on my search and am hoping that somebody can point me to the cure. Thanks. Me too me too!!! I just bought the car and couldn't figure out why pushing down on the wiper arm gave me one swipe and then it stayed off. I thought there were 2 offs!! :)
  17. Yep, they look good. They break up the sea of grey and tie in the darker parts of the interior. I used to use black mats on my beige interior G35 in the winter and put the beige mats back in during the summer.
  18. I sent an e-mail out to find out. Will report back when I get the information.
  19. Hello, I have a durametric cable coming in the mail for this weekend and do not have a laptop at the moment. I am looking at getting something that will basically only run this program. Any idea what I will really need for this? The durametric site doesn't state minimum requirements...I am assuming because if you are using a lot of modules for actual values, it can really slow down or need a very fast computer. I'll be using it for general trouble shooting and diagnostics. A friend has a Pentuim 1.8 Ghz with 1 GB or ram and XP pro on it which he used to hook into his Grand National and it was more than enough. I was thinking of taking that off his hands since he no longer has that car, would that be sufficient? Thanks in advance, Dennis I searched for +minimum +CPU and found nothing here. :(
  20. Depending on how smooth your floor is, you might be able to get it printed out for you and stuck to to the floor. Contact a company that does vehicle graphics. You can also use a projector to project the image on the floor and then all you have to do is paint over the picture matching the colors etc... Id suggest covering it in some sort of clear protection/paint so that it actually lasts! Show us what you did when you figure it all out, i'd love to see it!
  21. <==== noobie!! Can you use this procedure on a 2001 911TT with NAV???
  22. I haven't been able to find anything either, kind of frustrating.
  23. Is there a DIY for removing the gauges? I want to remove the tach and get the face changed, but I don't want to break anything!!!
