  1. I just changed my polyrib belt on my 2004 GT3. Just an FYI, you cannot use a 24mm socket because you do not have the space because of an aluminum bracket holding the motor that runs right in front of the tensioning pulley. A 24mm boxed end wrench is what you need. The spacing between the aluminum bracket and belt tensioner pulley is tight. I had to use a screw driver to lightly pry to open the gap to fit my wrench within the space. Also, the pulley layout is different so draw the layout before removing the belt. When removing or replacing space is very limited and not as open as the picture illustrates entire procedure should take 30-45 minutes. Good Luck. Steve
  2. If you look a few post below your I had a similar issue with this plastic shield but my clips were broken . It is not shown on any parts list for the GT3. You should have a plastic shield on both the drivers and passengers side. One must have fallen off or left off. The clip part number is 999.507.785.40. With this maybe the dealer can figure out the part number of the shield. Best of Luck.
  3. I have a 2004 GT3 and had the same problem. Just following up on this topic. These cluster shafts from Brian work well. Follow the instructions by searching on this site for interior trim removal for you model year. I recall you also have to do a search on instrument cluster. Only trouble I ran into was removing the hazard light switch. Careful when you pull on the white button section of the hazard light switch. It was difficult to press the locking side hooks so I just pulled and it broke (less than $40.00 to replace from Sunset Porsche). Good Luck
  4. Sunset Imports figured out the part to be 999.507.785.40
  5. Looking at the drawings it appears you are looking for item #15 Parts Kit Rose Belt Upper (996.521.905.90)
  6. Loren you were correct. I brought my car to a local dealer (Porsche Exchange) who confirmed everything is working as it should at no charge.
  7. I would like to replace the broken clip because this shield becomes loose and shifts, I would hate for it to come loose catch my wheel and cause an accident during a DE event. If I cannot find the clip I will just drill some holes and attach it via black plastic tie. I attached a picture of the black shield that I am referring to.
  8. The upper clip that I need has two and both are connected to 8mm aluminum line (assume fuel). The lower clips are also two connected to a larger aluminum line (996.106.615.54 ).
  9. I have been back in forth with Jeff at Sunset Imports and Porsche North America and Germany and no one can figure this one out. This clip that I am looking for attaches to the top of a black plastic shield to an aluminum hose approximately 8mm OD (part number cannot be read possibly fuel line). It is located directly behind the front tires (GT3 2004) if you were to remove them. The shield actually has 4 clips, two upper and two lower. The lower pipe is 996.106.615.54 that is using clip number 996.106.414.55. From the parts drawing it is not showing this correctly because they are showing this clip connected to another tube. Thanks, Steve
  10. I removed the electrical connection to the purge fan and connected aligator clips to the deck light (12v) and the fan worked. Beside testing on the big$ equipment anything else I can check or do I take into the dealer? Thanks
  11. I am back on this subject since I just returned from a DE event a week ago and I never heard the fan come on once I came off the track. I just started my car and let it sit for 15 minutes at idle. The outside temperature is 70F and the dash temperature gauges registered slightly over 180. I shut off the car and waited for 10 minutes during this entire time the fan never came on. Does this sound normal? I read your post from Rennlist (article 293438) that mentions switch on conditions and after running of engine when ignition is turn off. I did not have any way to measure the temperature of the engine compartment but I will tomorrow if this is necessary. Do you think I have a problem or should test in another way? Any suggestions for troubleshooting? Thanks, Steve
  12. I have been searching and cannot find the minimum thickness specifications for the brake rotors. Can anyone help? I have seen in other forums what appears to sections from the factory maintenance manual but I have not been successful in finding this available. Thanks
  13. I have a 2004 GT3. I just came back from a track event and noticed that the engine compartment fan never came on. I read the formums about certain temperature conditions need to be meet for this fan to be activated. I am raising this issue because I had my radiator flush recently. I check my fuses and see that Row C #5 fuse is missing. In the fuse booklet it mentions Engine Compartment Fan (optional) 5 amp. I checked the owners manual and it talks about the engine compartment fan which is on the truck lid so I have to assume the fuse is missing. Any advice would be appreciated.
