  1. We (my wife) tow/drive it (CS) everywhere. It really is about needs... I towed with a Tahoe & my wife would not drive it. When was time to replace her car (outback) she said lets get a BMW X3 to tow with. Then I need to explain that it could not handle the trailer/car weight... It need to be the X5... Which she hated. Luck would have it that the local BMW dealer also is the Porsche dealer. She walked up to the CS an screamed I love it! 2 days later it was in the driveway. Now she drives it everywhere and has not stopped giggling... :drive: There must be some sorta giggle button in the drivers seat (my father keeps saying that). After 4 famiy trips this year (each with 1 way travel times of at least 10 hrs) we will buy another. It is not a FULL SIZE truck nor is it a car... It is a balance that can meet specific needs.
  2. Thanks for the data. the R-7052 is my radio code. I'll get the tranny emptied out and add the new fluid this weekend. After my next event in 2 weeks I will update on the results.
  3. Loren, The car has option codes: 220,222,224. Which should give me the LSD set up. What are the results of cutting back on the additive? Would it case damage to the LSD? Also, I have two other codes that I am not sure about each are hand written onto the label. they are R-7052 & W-018. Do you know what these are? Thanks
  4. Loren, I have a 996 that I track more then street drive. What are your thoughts on using the 75w90NS from REDLINE? How much additive should be added to work with the LSD (car has it). REDLINE's site suggest 4 oz. But that would make it like the standard 75w90 oil. Has anyone attempted only adding 1 oz or 2 oz? Thanks for the help Chris
  5. Does anyone have the PST2 set up in or "VERY" near the CNY area? I am looking to do several changes to my 99 996 as it is now a track car. First I want to turn off the airbags in the DME, Second I would like to update the module to the RoW settings i.e eliminate the 2nd O2 sensor, improve the Rev limits etc. thanks for the help in advance.
  6. Try 7051 or 8049 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Yes I had already read that post. Thanks for the info... I will give it a try later.
  7. Help with another lost radio. CR-210 Serial#V5005907 R2095 Thanks
  8. So, is this forum only for the "Street Cars" any question that might be for a possible future PCA race car does not rate an answer.... The only way to advance Knowledge is to ask questions!
  9. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...st&p=114967 I do not recommend this - unless you have a full time track car. It does seem to be turning into a full time track car. The full cage arrives next week (we'll be installing it just before the Zone 1 event on the 19th)... What changes to the throttle and engine systems map does the RoW effect... i.e quicker throttle response, higher rev limits, ?
  10. Hi Loren, Would these options be similar for a 99 996 with the 3.4l? If so, what else would the ROW option(S) offer in performance. Thanks
  11. Hello All, Would anyone have a list of options for replacing the DMF on the 3.4l 996. I am starting to Club race and maintain the Stock classification. The rules state "Any dual mass flywheel may be replaced with a single mass, ferrous material (magnetic) flywheel only". That is all well and good... But I can not seem to find a steel flywheel that bolts up with the 3.4 8 bolt configuration. Any input would be helpful.
  12. I appreciate the input... I have been driving sense the early 80's when I got my SCCA credentials, after years of following the regoinal FF grind, I moved into SVRA racing with a F2000. thoughout all the time I have driving numerous types of cares up to F1 vintage stuff. Yet, I do not consider myself a Pro by any stretch of the imagination. Just a guy who likes to drive.... Currently I use Pilot Sprot Cups, for rain and Hankook racing slicks. Still, I am far from a Pro driver whom can produce the kinds of forces that will stress crack a tub. If you are ever able to find the pics please send them along. Thanks for the help... :D
  13. Again, Thanks. We really don't have a race shop here or near Syarcuse NY. Nearest would be CT. Currently, I have installed a Rollbar. Have not gone the whole cage route as the time trail events and other types of events have not required it yet. Should we move completely over to NASA or PCA club events another car is in the future. The search for a GT3 Cup as already started (casual search). As everything in these economic times the business comes first. So, I am attempting to make the best out of what I already have. That said any more advise?
  14. Thanks for the data. If this has presented problems what are people doing to support the track cars they are installing PSS9's & 10's in?
  15. While it may not be recommended it will fit. It would seem that if people are installing the PSS9's or 10's on the car it can handle the X74. Thoughts. This car is a street/DE car with about 10 events a year.
  16. Hi Everyone, Here I stand with a Row M030 kit sitting in my garage when I thought I ordered a X74 kit. After Three days of back and forth with the dealer. They are telling me that the X74 is not availible as a "KIT" I have a 99 996 C2, 6 speed. The kit that arrived is the 00004450027. Will the 00004450035 kit really be the X74 and fit. Or can I make it fit. Also, what are the spring color markings for the front and rear. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Chris
