  1. Sounds like a nice chunk of change of course, but what are your engine software files worth to you? If you couldn't source them from anywhere else and would require a retune for any reason, I think that is several hours worth of dyno and tuning time, which would be more than $400. I'd pay it.
  2. Probably a OBD2 || USB cable. The cables for these kind of setups are always the expensive bit. I have the VAGCOM [yes, I know] Ross-tech setup for my Audi, and the same applies - the software is free; the cable was costly piece. Is this tuner giving you your files as well? Are you planning on manipulating them, or just archiving them for safekeeping?
  3. Look on p.359 of the parts catalog, [see link I posted in other thread] there are several options. Loren I'm sure knows which one. HTH edit: he beat me :)
  4. Look on p.238 of 605 Right Click / Save As for parts diagram pdf from Pelican It should be the same between cab & coupe, but make sure HTH Also check out THIS post, which links back to RennTech with a write up
  5. Just to give you some idea of the kind of crap that accumulates, here are a few pictures from a 1999 Boxster. It did not appear the radiators had ever been cleaned out. Here are a couple from my clean out event on my 04 C4S After:
  6. Weird. On my MY04 there is a cover and a 5mm hex bolt that attaches the bumperette to the frame
  7. Nope; they are there; there is just a cover that pops out. I also have an 04 and removed and reinstalled them recently to remove and reinstall the bumper.
  8. I have not done it. Lots of the TTs are tips, so I have to imagine its been dealt with before, I just have no idea. :)
  9. There were some changes I think in the capacity between Mk1 and Mk2, but here at least is the Mk2 OM page.
  10. You could download the OM if you were a contributing member here; food for thought. If only I had a silver platter - I'd offer it to your liking. Come on - its not like this info is buried in some random cryptic TSB from 1999.
  11. Let me clarify: We’re not talking about an automatic. His indy told him - well, read it - that's what I am saying is Bull.
  12. What problems would fresh fluid cause? IMO, that's Bull. I've heard this wives' tale before, but mostly regarding automatic transmissions. Factory interval is 90k. For my own peace of mind, I cut that in half. Use the factory fluid.
  13. I think I get this same sound from time to time. It’ll happen just after I unlock the door and enter the vehicle; sounds like its coming from the center of the dash, near the windshield, and lasts for ~5 seconds or so. Sounds almost like a relay cycling on and off very quickly. Doesn’t seem to impact any other functionality; was going to have the dealer look at it during my next service.
  14. Perhaps the sensors [don't know where they are located] became misaligned when just one wheel was rotated enough so that the error was triggered. I'd simply call the dealer first and see what they tell you. Seems too coincidental for the error lights to pop up right after the detailing effort.
  15. Did you do this with the key in the ignition and turned to the first position?
  16. I would download the OM for the 997 and see what pressures they recommend for the OEM 19 - obviously if the tire sizes are the same or very close
  17. Its tight, for sure. I put the socket [not a deep socket] on the nut first, the wiggled the ratchet up there and attached it that way.
  18. Factory interval is 90k. Cut that in half and it still makes financial sense to use the factory fill.
  19. I haven't followed your other threads, but sounds like you have a leak somewhere after the MAF, which can cause the surging since un-metered air is allowed into the system. Check your boot and clamp at the throttle body; make sure it is in evenly and securely.
