  1. Hi Rob, You remember cars from the 70's had that Choke thingy that you would pull to start up the car. It allowed the mixture to run richer to keep tha car going while it was cold. Newer cars from this millenium have an electronic version that does the same thing without you having to pull the lever thing. My guess would be this mechanism operating for a few minutes until warmed up.
  2. Thanks Orient Express One other question. Is it better to route the wires from the relay board in the front of the car back to the engine, or from the engine forwards ? Im a bit nervous of taking all the trim apart and dont want to do it twice
  3. Hi All, I have obtained a set of PSE mufflers and would like to know if i need anything special to install them ? Do i need any gaskets or new clamps or are the old ones usually OK ? California Car with 13000 miles so the clamps shouldnt be corroded. When the vacuum lines are routed thru the heat shield are grommets needed ? Also, does anyone have a set of the electrical parts that they want to sell ? I would like to try the full install at some point. I can trace the wire route all the way until the panel behind the seat backs thru the the engine bay. There is a huge rubber gromet on the back right corner of the engine bay. Is this the one that need to be cut the go the wires thru.? Can i then see them if i remove the two-screw panel behind the seat backs ? BTW this is for a 2001 C4 Cab. Thanks
  4. Is this what you need? Its from Eddie Bauer. My son has used this since he was about 18-months
  5. Im trying to decide on a louder exhaust for my 2001 C4 Cab. Anyone in Silicon Valley have a GHL or PSE that i could listen to during a lunchbreak ? Thanks Karl
  6. Is there any difference in sound or performance to install the old PSE vs the new PSE on a 2001 C4 ? Are the wider pipes louder ? or a different tone perhaps ? I would be very interested in these. Thanks
  7. Thanks all for the replies. I re-checked the fan air flow and it does exit thru the opening in front of the wheels. I think i just felt the back-pressure come thru the front vent openings. I couldnt see the low speed fans enable at all when i let the car idle at the gas station. When the temperature gauge reached near the right side of the "0" in 180, the high speed fans kicked in (while i was stopped) The temperature is fine when im driving... its between the "8" and "0" in 180. At stops, it slowly creeps up. Im guessing that the low speed fans are not kicking in at all, so the high speed ones are keeping the temperature at i higher level. Any ideas on troubleshooting the low speed issue ? It there a fuse or relay to check. ?
  8. I have owned a 2001 C4 Cab (7,000 miles only!) for the past few months. Now its getting warm in California, i see the engine temperature fluctuate from the 8 in 180 on the gauge, to above the 0 in 180. Is this normal ? I vacuumed out a few leaves from the bottom corner of the radiator, but it seems to be the same. I checked the fans when the AC was on and they both work... they seemed to blow outwards... is this normal ? I havent heard them run without the AC on at the slow speed.. when do they kick in for the different temperatures and different speeds ? Is there a fuse or relay to check ? The coolant level looks fine thru the bottle. Sounds like other folks see something similar.. but is this normal behaviour ? Any advice ? Thanks
