  1. So have you found anything? I have the same problem in my '05 987, I'm 6'1" my lady is 5'10". I've been thinking of trying to find some sort of clip thing, rather than some sort of sheepskin cushion... (shiver).
  2. Hey all sorry to start another new topic I confess my name is Richard and I am a newbie. OK that out of the way I have an '05 987 bought it used the heater controls specifially the fan speed switch and temp switch the "black coating" is comming off and looks shabby. I'd like to replace without buying a whole new unit, have scoured the forums here and elsewhere and can't figure out if that's possible. Also I downloaded and looked through several katalogs and can only find a part number for the entire unit, no part number for the individual switches. Any suggestions?
  3. I checked the lnik, who would know they had the Dension piece?! Unfortunately I don't have the larger nav scree, here's a link of what I'm looking at... http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=175 Thanks for your reply!
  4. Hey all i have a 2005 Boxster 987 with the CDR24 and premium (though not Bose) system. I want to hook my ipod to the stereo and short of dropping a grip for a Dension unit I find mention of the Dension Ice Link. I can't find anything anywhere on the net about it and only come up with the 1 recomendation from Dension's website to buy it from. Has anyone else tried this unit? Any suggestions on where to pick it up? Thanks!
  5. I took my '05 987 with middle sound system (CDR24 with amp, not Bose) to my local stereo shop. Time to complete 2 hours, cost $200, peace of mind knowing I didn't blow anything up? Priceless!
  6. Depending on the amp most have what's called high level input. This is where you would run the speaker outs from your head unit in. The only problem is on a cheaper amp you can get lots of engine noise, whine, background hiss, etc. Either go with a higher end amp or get a good line level converter. Also make sure when you install it you get a good ground to the chassis. If there's paint on your point of ground make sure to scratch it clean, use the same size wire on your grouns as your power, blah blah blah. You allready know all this sorry babbling good luck!
  7. Most "factory" systems will only go so far, and depending on what kind of music you listen to, what tires you have (and how worn they are), whether you drive with the top up or down, there's just a ton of things to over come for "good sound" in a car like this. I worked in the car audio industry for 10 years and my suggestion? Take it to a respectable, high end car audio place. If I were going to do anything to the audio system the best bang for the buck is more power and better speakers. Most in dash stereos only have a fraction of the power the speakers in your car can handle, in fact a speaker usually blows from too little power (playing at high volumes with little power causes distortion, thus blown speakers) than too much power. Be careful though as lots of amps and speakers means either blown alternators, drained batteries, or stolen cars! Good luck!!!
  8. OK I'm confused. I have an '05 987 and was thinking of buying these as well. Of the two part numbers on the back of the light one is marked for a 987. Do they not fit because you are putting them on an '08? Does my question make any sense?
  9. Does adding these speakers hamper the use of the center storage box? (not that you can fit much in it anyway...)
