  1. I'm in the market to purchase a home here in southern california...San Diego to be exact. So I'm going to sell off the toys and the boxster is the first to go. So whats it worth... here is specs 1999 Porsche Boxster Tiptronic Silver w/ Red Leather 45k miles New Tires less than 500 miles (BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2) New brakes less than 300 miles (Mentex w/ wear sensors & Brembo, drilled and slotted Rotors) Brake system flush (synthetic DOT4) Fresh oil, oil filter, air filter and Cabin air filter New rear window I have a 1999 Porsche Boxster 2.5L H6 DOHC 24V, Tiptronic (auto transmission) that is my wife’s car. Upgraded onboard computer. 18” rim and tires. This car is always garaged and only driven on sunny weekend days. Non-smokers. I put new tires, brake pads and new rotors with in the last 1000 miles. After the brakes and tires I had the car aligned at Dieters here in San Diego. The interior is perfect with no flaws or signs of wear. The exterior is in very good condition with a few tiny dings and paint flaws all of which are hardly noticeable. This car is ready for summer fun. Needs nothing accept a new owner? My wife and I are buying a home and only need one car.
  2. that is the exact information i was looking for....thanks Loren Aaron
  3. Mine allready came with the lower left and right hand stalk. My original question was do most or all Boxsters come with an on-board computer. I have seen a few boxsters that did NOT have the lower left hand stalk. The one that controles the on-board computer. I was wondering if mine was a special order item from the dealer or some sort of upgrade.
  4. I have a 99 2.5 and I think I have an on board computer....we here's the deal. I bought my Boxster used a few years back. The company I bought the car from new nothing about the car. But the car was in great shape with no problems and really low miles at a great price. That was two years ago and I've had no big problems. Now my question is do I have some sort of on board computer. I know all cars have an on board computer but I have seen a tone of boxsters with only 3 hand operated signal type switches right behind the steering wheel and mine has 4. So 2 for the right hand and 2 for the left. I usually only see one for the left side. The switch controls the out side temp, MPG, MPH....not sure what it does. The obvious is that I don't have a owners manual. But any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Aaron
  5. Any one in the san diego area w/ a ps2s. My air bag light is on and I need to read the code so I can fix this little problem.....thanks in advanced. Aaron
  6. The e-bay zimmermans were the ones I was looking at....thanks for the post and I'm sorry to here about the rear-ender!! Aaron here you go TP http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  7. has anybody used or know anything about the brakes being sold on e-bay. I'm doing my homework befor I need them. I would like to replace everything at once....rotors, pads and sensors! The drilled Zimmerman look the part...what have guys heard!! Thanks Aaron
  8. Hello Renntech, I just purchased a full set of BFGoodrich g-Force KDW-2 tires for my 99 boxster. They replace PS2. The tire have a great review and they feel much better that the PS2. My question is based on the alignment. I had it aligned at a local Porsche/BMW/Merc...shop. They preformed a 4 wheel alignment. The car still pulls to the right as I was notified of this before I picked up the car. The owner/manager stated that I would not get uneven tire ware that the reason the car was pulling to one side is that the "knuckle" might have been damaged and that they adjusted as much as they possibly could. Have any of you guys heard of this.. in all honesty it sound like this could happen as I have 18 inch rims and low profile tires which don't allow for any give in the tire department. What do you guys think!!! Thanks Aaron
  9. 99 boxster...airbag light has been on for a while and I know it is from the driver side. I'm a contributing member but I'm having a problem opening the tsb file for the fix. i need the instructions and part numbers to complete this fix. many thanks Aaron
  10. Hi PTEC, I also belong to the legions of pre-00 Boxster owners with the airbag light problem. Local repair shop cleared it once but it reappeared after only 3 days. They are willing to fix it again, I just don't like the wait period to get into the shop. Appreciate if you could also send me the instructions you have. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The instructions to fix the seat belt buckles are in a TSB. Contributing Members here can read ALL of the TSBs... hint hint ;) ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hello Loren, I'm now a contributor of the site however all I can do is see the number no fixes or directions of any kind!!! Thanks Aaron
  11. Hello PTEC, I have the same problem and I also would like the directions to fix this little problem.......thanks in advanced Aaron
  12. i have a slight pull to the right. All tires are inflated properly. My question is can any alighnemt shop align my 99 2.5 boxster. Thanks
  13. I had the rear window replaced in my 99 2.5 and the top is not as tight as it was. I seems as it needs just a little snugging up. It's not that bad but I think it could be better. Thanks Aaron
  14. Let me know whay you do as I have the same problem!! Aaron
  15. Aaron, I own a 2000 Boxter S and had the same problem. I had to take my car back to the dealer 4 times wherin the mechanic changed the switch in the seat belt connector. The first 3 visits and switch exchanges did not solve the problem. On the 4th visit, the mechanic called Porsche Corp. and was told that there has been a problem with the switches and ordered a recall and a TSB. The final solution was a switch with GOLD PLATED connectors. It was ordered and subsequently, installed in my Boxter. The fix was right on! I have had no problems with the airbag light since then. Sincerely, FlightleaderK4. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look like a trip to the dealer for some GOLD...Bling Bling in the seat belts...thanks for everones input!! Aaron
  16. I have the airbag warning light on... I have done a search and is there another way to solve this problem without going to the dealer. Is there some sort of DIY fix for this. Thanks Aaron
  17. Hello All, I do not have an owners manuel for my 99 2.5 so that is the reason for what I think is a dumb question. The fuse panel by the driver side foot rest has a switch that is accacesible with the fuse panel cover on. What does the switch do. Thanks aaron
  18. break cooling ......cheap at the dealer....under 20dls
  19. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The reason I say check your battery is on the passenger side of the battery there is a drain tube from your battery that drains pretty much straight down. If a problem exist with your battery this could be the reason that you have a "stained" driveway as water from the AC unit would not stain your driveway. Your gas tank is also located up front same with your steering box that has power steering fluid run to it. There are lots of little things to check out. Look for areas of moisture or dampness up front. Good luck in locating it.....let us know what you kind out.
  20. check your battery...there is a drain tube up front. hope this helps Aaron
  21. I also have a 99 and I was having the same problem only I was getting P1123 and P1125. I cleaned the MAF with electronics parts cleaner from radio shack and I changed out the stock gas cap with the recall gas cap. A couple of hundred miles with no light. First check to see if you have the original gas cap and if you do take the car to your nearest dealer to have them replace it. If you have already replaced the gas cap clean your MAF. The way I cleaned mine was obviously take it out and spray the cleaner on generously let it dry repeat the process a few times. I also used a can of compressed air to speed up the drying time. I'm not sure what was the cause of my CEL because I replaced the gas cap and cleaned the MAF all in the same weekend. A day after everything was done the light went off by itself. hope this helps good luck Aaron
  22. hello all, I have a 99 boxster 2.5 that had the exact same codes. There was a gas cap recall for the 99's not sure if yous falls in this category but solved the problem for me also make sure you have a good seal at the dip stick and oil cap. I also cleaned the MAF with radio shack electronics parts cleaner as this seems to be a common problem. I have put about 200+ miles with no CEL. Good Luck!! Aaron
