  1. I just had Armorglove (made by Dupont) installed on my 05 Cayenne. No problems with the install and it looks great. The installer told me they used a 3M product (Clear Bra) before and stopped because the glue yellowed, very noticeable on white cars. Another good thing about Armorglove is that it can be stretched in all directions which makes it easy to install and less cuts have to be made. The 3M product is rigid. I'm sure there are pros and cons for both products, but I just told you everything i've been told. Good luck.
  2. Just an FYI - My dealer said it can't be done. Too bad.
  3. The dealer lubricated the handles and they work fine now. :clapping: I hope they stay like this.....
  4. Does anyone know if there was a recall for the door handles on the 2005 Cayenne? Three out of four doors get stuck in the opened position when you get into the car. Of course you don't realize this until you get in and try to close the door. You have to get out of the car and push the door handle back in. I am bringing it in for service next week, just thought someone here might know. Thanks.
  5. Does anyone know if there is a mod or part number to add Daytime Running Lights to a US Cayenne? I have a 1990 911 and installed a relay (Canadian part) for $35 I now have DRL's. Thanks.
  6. I ordered it from C. Crane Company (no affiliation). Most people sell Novus #1, #2, #3 but they had a kit of small bottles that had everything. At $20 delivered you can't beat it.
  7. I just had the Armorglove installed. A fantastic job by AF America in Greenwich CT. I ended up getting: Full Wrap Bumper Package Full Hood Package (Hood, wings, mirror backs) Light Package (headlights and fog lights) Option Package (Front and rear doorsteps and gas cap) Basically its everything they have for the Cayenne. Great people to deal with and quick service, they had three guys working on the car and it was done in just a few hours.
  8. UNBELIEVABLE! Novus rules.... :notworthy: No way to tell it was ever scratched. I started with Novus#3, then #2, then polished with #1. The entire process took 10 minutes.
  9. How hard do you have to slam your rear window for it to close properly? I detected a rattle in the back of the car and found that the rear glass was locked but not fully seated. I have to slam it very hard to get that thing to close properly. Is rear glass adjustment a common problem? BTW- I know the antenna is in the rear spoiler but wouldn't you know it, after slamming it closed a few time, I now get 20ft range on my remote (a HUGE Improvement). I am still scheduled to get the remotes replaced next week under warranty.
  10. I was just at my local dealer and bumped into the service manager. When he asked me how my car was I told him that I love everything about this car but I have one major complaint, the remote SUCKS. I told him I could almost live with being two feet away when I lock and unlock the car but hitting the button five or six times until I just hit it right is insane. I have been embarrassed in front of people getting into my own car. They said there was a recall for the keyless entry remote (not mine) because of a similar problem but they would replace mine with the new keyless entry style remote anyway. Apparently it is greatly improved. I am getting it done next Wednesday, I will let you know if there is improvement.
  11. Beautiful cars, great picture. More please.... :notworthy:
  12. The product is amazing (5 minute install), the extra weight makes it harder for the hood to stay up but I'm sure those struts are due for replacement anyway. I'll install the heavy duty replacements in the spring. The folks are DAS Shield were great to do business with.
  13. I'm sure this happened at the car wash - Scratches on the glossy black surround next to the shifter on my 05 Cayenne. Its hard to feel them with my finger but they really show up against that high gloss black plastic. :censored: I googled "plastic scratch remover" and came up with this stuff called Novus. I ordered a kit that has the following: Clean and Shine Fine Scratch Remover Heavy Scratch Remover lint-free polishing cloth Does anyone have experience with this product or have any recommendations or tips for me. Thanks
  14. OMG, thats alot of information. Very nice link to have, thanks Tom.
  15. I just called them, $125 - $150 tops for that job. Does anyone here use this product? I can't believe the timing on this win...
  16. Yesterday was our annual PCA holiday party and I actually won Armorglove for the headlights, fog lights and full food. How amazing is that since I have a one week old Cayenne. The only catch is that the gift certificate is for the parts only and does not include installation. I am going to call the place that is honoring this gift certificate but I was wondering what labor on something like this should cost. At first I won the headlight/fog light protectors and thought “cool, I can do this myself” but then the hood protection came along and I figured it had to be done by them. Any help or insight to this product and its installation costs would be appreciated. Thanks
  17. I followed Tom's advice. I added her in and will make the changes if my model ever becomes available. Thanks Tom.
  18. First of all I have no affiliation with DAS Shield. DAS Shield is a trunk liner that protect the hood from interior damage (like closing your trunk on a package) and gives it a finished look. A friend of mine with a 996 had one and it looked fantastic. I was always jealous that they didn't make it for older 911's. I saw an ad in Excellence from DAS Shield that said they were now available and that they were running a special offer, $129 + Free shipping (for a limited time). It's normally $169 + shipping. This was definitely a good deal. I am a little concerned about the extra weight (I hate when it closes on my head) but I will post my experience when I get it next week. DAS Shield
  19. Thanks for creating this Loren!
  20. Thanks for creating that Loren. That was fast work! :notworthy: Technically the internal factory number was 911 until the 964, 993, 996, 997. Though Turbos should get their own classification (IMO) T, S, E designated engine types so I'm not sure it's wrong to group them together. Like a 3.0 SC and a 3.2 Carrera would really just be called 911's, the year of the car would certainly designate the era/model. That just my opinion, after all its your website  Keep of the good work and thats again for adding that 964 section.
  21. I am new to this site and love the garage section. I was wondering why there are no drop downs for older air cooled cars. Also, I noticed in the "Old model" section there is no 964, its between the 911 and 993 (1989-1994). Thanks
