  1. welcome to the forum, ATL! What are you trying to do with your calipers? Buying pads?

    Tim in Ft Worth (Ignited)

  2. do you remember how you got PCNA to kick in $1000 for the coolant pipe repair?

  3. Here is a pdf of the letter I got. I realized later I may have a shot at getting my $$ back if I can find the receipt for the parts. Tim in Ft Worth
  4. Unfortunately, in my situation, since I did the replacement myself there is no warranty. It's only warrantied if a dealer did the repair/replacement. Tim in Ft Worth
  5. Hi, I installed the Curt hitch some time ago. It is good quality. For the wiring I used the Hoppy adapter specifically for the Cayenne. Here are the instructions........ Rgds, BobCayenne Trailer Hitch and Wiring.pdf Hi Bob! Was that a class 3 Curt hitch? And do you still have the part # for the Hoppy kit? JC Whitney has several Hopkins kits. Do you have specific part #'s please. Tim in Ft Worth
  6. Same scenario here with my '04 CTT. same failure of both the DS and PCNA to help. Got it replaced by local euro shop for just over $1K. He said it is considered a wear item in that it receives and absorbs a tremendous amount of shock when the vehicle is driven as Porsche intended (in our case to break/wear out parts as quickly as possible). I don't plan to waste any more time dealing with PCNA and their dealer network if I can possibly avoid it. They have made it clear to me on numerous occasions that their intent is to not support Cayenne ownership when situations like this arise. Tim in Ft Worth
  7. Were you able to get a used part or did you have to buy a new one? Do you mind if I ask the price, parts & labor to replace? Tim in Ft Worth '04 TT
  8. Hey, CT, how about an update on the gas smell problem? What was the fix? Tim in Ft Worth
  9. Don't know how close an '05 is to an '04 but a gas cap code on mine is closer to an P0456 than the P0441. So wvicary is spot-on with the EVAP call. Mine just threw the P0456 last weekend so I had the cap checked. The garage said it probably just didn't get tightened after the last fill-up. They cleared the codes and they haven't come back (touch wood). Good luck with the A/C testing and please let us know the outcome! Tim in Ft Worth
  10. I'm going out on a limb here, CP, and say zero or close to it. When mine went out on my '04 CTT it first felt and sounded like a flat tire while driving. Then a day or two later it started making a banging sound under the center console. It goes bad really fast. So don't wait for that wobble to turn to sudden death...it will. What year is your rig? Tim in Ft Worth, Tx
  11. where are you you located, 'beer? Not in USA? So you are not buying a US version? Tim in Ft Worth
  12. Check your gmail account, CT. I sent you a couple of pics I took when I had to do this job on mine. Tim
  13. The first sign I got was a low coolant warning on the display. I would add water and it would run out under the engine bay as fast as I added it. It will be sudden and severe when it happens to your car. Admittedly it never overheated past 3/4 on the guage even though I drove it for a couple of days like that, just adding water frequently. Not sure why. Hope this helps. Tim in Ft Worth
  14. I have an '04 CTT w/o alcantara that originally was purchased in Michigan and feel gypped the same way you do, especially after hearing from you it was deleted. My friend has a black CTT with the wood interior trim and alcantara and I really like it. Upgrading would seem like an uneconomical solution. My headliner is a light bluish-gray material like polyester. Tim in Ft Worth
  15. Steve, I would have the coils checked for cracks even though you didn't mention the check engine light or a misfire. Also have the driveshaft bearings checked for wear. And was the coolant pipe repair already done? And that pesky ventilation system... if your's isn't in top condition have them replace the actuator solenoids under the dash. Mostly all the usual stuff everyone who owns an '04 with over 50K mileage already has done. And my personal experience is that PCNA would not discuss any of these issues with me after my car reached 50K. Tim in Ft Worth
  16. My set of Pirelli Rossos barely lasted 12 months and maybe 14,000 miles. Fantastic grip and handling....terrible mileage. And no mileage warranty either!! Tim in Ft Worth
  17. Is there any benefit in weighing our cars on digital scales? Measuring your car's weight distribution will generally set a baseline for establishing a plan for improving your handling. Will this really tell you how to change your alignment for better handling? Tim in Ft Worth '04 CTT
  18. Did they let you keep the rebate check for your trouble? I'd love to drive a CTT with the Sport Michelins. I can't imagine a better ride than what I have now. Tim
  19. Guma, I remember reading a thread here about having the dealer retrofit a plug so that the trailer lights will work. At least I think that is the issue. Be sure to ask your dealer about this so that it can be done before you return. Tim in Ft Worth
  20. I have had really good luck with a red top Optima for 12 years and holding in my '78 Datsun turbo Z which I drive much less since I got the CTT. Admittedly there isn't much comparison since the Z has very little parasitic loss...probably only the DFI computer, stereo and clock. I would also have your vehicle checked for unusual electrical system drains by a qualified shop. Tim in Ft Worth
  21. My .02 on the T-pipes is to replace them now. Don't wait. That is also the opinion of my indie garage who replaced mine and I'm glad I went with his advice. It's just good insurance. Tim in Ft Worth I had this problem with my Cayenne S. It is not limited to the turbos only.
  22. Guys, does anyone know of a source for a used driver's side (right-side?) grille insert for my '04 turbo? I lost it somewhere in the snowstorm we had here in north Texas a few weeks ago. Searched the roadways but never found it. A new one s $100 from Pelican!!! Tim in Ft Worth
  23. Please post pics as it helps other members identify the parts. I hope these are the parts you are seeking. They are the only other parts in my box of parts the shop gave me.
  24. I have those parts as well and can take pics of them if someone needs an ID. The shop replaced the vent/breather pipe as well as the plastic water pipes. Tim
  25. I second that! My indie shop did replace both T-pipes (they are rigid plastic, not rubber hose) and the vent tubes. Here is a quick pic of the vent/breather for ID... I have the individual parts for the T-pipe replacement and can take more pictures if someone wants a more visual detail. Tim in Ft Worth
