  1. ????? The ones I replaced were solid painted and laquered aluminium.
  2. John is probably right. Although a mate had similar problems and it was just the relay - worth a try, but I was not so lucky. You need a range of socket set extensions and a knuckle joint to access the bolts - pita to torque up. Cheapest I could find was a recon unit from ALTERNATOR MART.CO.UK 994 Astley Street Dukinfield Cheshire
  3. I got one off ebay and one from my local OPC - and it was in stock.....
  4. I thought 'do I buy a special tool or carve up an existing one, or shall I just ask my Dealer to fix it when it's in for a service???? As it turns out when I handed over the part for them to install they said it was a warranty issue anyway.............. Doh!
  5. Well here in the UK you can still buy the levers separately. Bought a luggage lever last week and (thanks Loren) just finished fitting it. Part No. 996 551 511 08 - but of course that is a RH drive lever!
  6. I have a similar problem with my GT3 Mk1. Only problem is the transmission housing is slightly different and you cannot get a 19mm box spanner to fit over the reverse switch - one side of the switch is very tight to the housing. A 19mm open ended spanner will not get sufficienct purchase as there is just not enough space. Do Porsche have a special tool or shall I just have to buy a very short slimline 19mm spanner??? Or is there a secret method???
  7. Greg They will be very rusty and the only way to get the tips really clean is to hacksaw the brackets off. You can get new stainless clamps from Design911 or Type 911.... BTW it is a real pig of a job.....
  8. You are dead right GregM, I have done a bit more research - they are an option on the (wider body) turbo called the 'GT3 Look' and the different offsets means they will definitely foul the arches.
  9. Some wheels are being offered for sale at a good price complete with S02 225/40's and 295/30's..... They are described as genuine Porsche as fitted to the GT3 Mk 2. - fronts 18x8 50mm offset, rears 11x18 45mm offset. I am unsure if the rears will fit as my standard 102 wheels have an offset of 65mm so my calcs make the 11" wheels sit 45mm wider in the bodyshell. Has anyone tried to fit such a width and would it adversely affect understeer etc. regards Tim
