  1. At the rate our taxes will be going up after our friends in Washington figure out how us taxpayers will have to line up to pay off the debt & national healthcare we'll have lots of these 'tax disc holders' on our cars. :censored:  :censored: lol @ AP - just be happy you're not in canada... 7-8% much better than 15% ! I still dont know what that thing is? you put candy in it? can you take a pic with it in place on the car? Sam
  2. I believe it. GT3 RS owners either lock their cars up in the garage and keep as queens or are track junkies. They do not have time for the internet! :D Add a third GT3 RS to Ontario, GTA area.. Pfaff Porsche now has a White GT3 RS for sale with 7300 km on it So far that is 2 Black/Black/Orange and 1 White/Black/Black Sam
  3. No cd changer, just Nav j Well then it's the connector for the CD changer. It's included on all 997's whether or not a CD changer is fitted. That's why these cars cost so much . . . . . it's those unused parts. (lol) :) :) that is. I used it to install mine, its suppsed to be hidden inside the carpet though... nudge it back under :) Sam
  4. This should take you 45minutes to 2.5 hours based on how familiar you are with the vehicle but as Loren mentioned it is not a difficult process at all. I have seen the TSBs and used them myself to install the changer, took me 30 minutes. Sam
  5. so you are saying there's only 1 GT3 RS in all of ontario based on your registry? I find that hard to believe
  6. Just tried this on my 997-1 and I hear it but not loud enough to bother me. is the gearbox the same on a manual 997-1 VS 997-2 ?
  7. Update: was out of town for 4 days. Took the car to the dealer today. Noticed a rough idle and varying rpms while idling. Dealer said the code had cleared itself, but the code showed a defective valve solenoid. They have to overnight a replacement from Atlanta. They hope to have it back to me in 1 - 2 days. Anyone heard of this with the new DFI 3.8s? TIA Update #2 Dealer called and said the new solenoid did not clear the fault. He told me that "bank #2" is not communicating correctly with the solenoid and therefore not opening the intake valves correctly (?) I assume this has something to do with the variocam and which cam profile to follow, but I work on people not cars. They are contacting Porsche for further instructions. I bought the 2009 to avoid issues with the RMS and IMS on the previous design. Anyone aware of this issue? How concerned should I be ??? Aren't you glad you took the car in instead of having to deal with many more issues at a later stage? Keep us updated on this and how it develops.
  8. I asked my dealer when i had a CD stuck in my PCM 2 and they said the whole unit would have to be replaced; so I specifically looked into replacing it with the new PCM 3 and they told me that it would not work as the way PCM 3 communicates with the rest of the systems is different than PCM 2... Just what they told me and I left it at that, would be curious to see if anyone has actually attempted this Sam
  9. He was at the liquor store! haha Doesnt the RS come standard with the rollcage? I don't see it... I thought you were joking at first but coule this be..... ?
  10. seems to me like a good excuse to take it out for a ride on a Saturday to get it looked at... I wouldn't feel comfortable driving such a new car with that light on.
  11. here's one I saw this weekend....nice plate
  12. I am in the same boat... perhaps I'll pay the hobby shop a visit and see what I can find for the both of us... the ex-owner's golf clubs have put some scratches on the back of mine as well. Sam
  13. ^ Good idea, this should cost you $50/year based on 355bhp's quote.
  14. I thought the center console is all the same for all 997-1 vehicles?
  15. Same happens to me and at red lights too, hehe. As others mentioned, way to avoid would be to downshift to 1 right before you roll into a stop, that works. But I still fail to do that once in a while, so I get her going in 2. But the issue is perfectly normal and has happened in my other vehicles as well, guess it has to do with the way the gearbox teeth line up. Sam
  16. Hello AP 997S - thanks again for your help - everything went just fine today - all softwares updated (3.0 now), sounds great - Amp Actual really reflects what the MOST test of the device returns. Have a good day! Vladimir Where do you guys get the update disks? what are the main advantages of upgrading to 3.0?
  17. and LA dismantlers is the site i was referring to! kudos; but they currently have no 997 seats.
  18. yes, he's owned probably 10-15 911s, he MUST have them - although he's 6`5 - 230lbs Sam
  19. Hey guys, A friend of mine is looking to get into a 997, he's pretty strict about having sport seats along with a few other options... long story short he's found some with all other options he wants except sport seats, is there anywhere you would recommend he looked to buy a set of sport seats (or perhaps trade his)? I recall finding a site a while back with a whole bunch of seats for sale, but can't remember the name Sam
  20. Good deal Noor, very similar to what I drive! Warranty is an excellent bonus you're getting with the car! That's one thing I wish I got. congrats if you buy it, put up some pics Sam
