  1. I think you can buy the part that sticks in the hole where the top latch goes, if you install the tonell cover I think you can use it?

It does not work with the top down.  You could somehow keep that little switch (where the roof latch locks in) pressed down.  I would also like to know how it can be enabled.  Someone could just walk up and take my wind buffer, and sell it for $100!

  2. Are you talking about the Harmon becker traffic pro unit with the gps? or the Porsche unit with the large screen?

I am looking for a navi cd for an 01 (pcm1) navigation unit.  I know you can call becker and get the cd for $150+s/h, but I'm hoping for a cheaper solution.  I've been looking on ebay and have only been able to find 2002 cd's and from what I've read the system isn't forwards or backwards compatible.  Does anyone know of a cheaper solution?  TIA

You can order the entire set from Navtech for $150...or find a friend with the disk that you need and a good cd burner .

  3. I just fitted 5 1/4 boston pros 50 If I remember correctly the max was 4" inorder to fit the bostons I had to inlarge the hole size. I used a dremel and sandpaper. It worked great.

Let me know if you have other questions I just re did the whoel system in my 2004 with MOST new radio, speakers amps

Looking for the max mounting depth of the door speaker enclosure.

  4. Does anybody know if there is a aftermarket plug for the radio harness?

I'm looking to try and plug a male end into the factory female end harness to connect my radio, I dont want to cut the factory harness so I would like a plug that is the same type and end like on the radio.

I remember something about a vw part?

    thanks

  6. I'm looking for the Part number for the front dash speaker grills Not the speakers themselves just the grills. I believe they are the same for Carrera Models

Also I'm looking for the part number of the ash tray delete in artic sivler trim. Is it a whole new part or do I just take off the ashtray hinged flap?

Also the part number for the cigar lighter with the No smoke logo

    thanks

    Car is a 04 Boxster s 550

with black interior and artic sivler trim

    thanks, mark NJ :D

  7. Does Porsche sell an OEM kit for a connection to XM or Sirus?  If the answer is no, do the aftermarket kits allow a "direct connect" to the stereo versus having to go via an FM tuned station like 88.7?  I never liked the sound quality of those hookup compared to ones that were wired directly into the inputs of the radio.

    Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat like you, I;'ve searched all over no luck yet finding a way to just plug into the unit. I think I can go into the changer wires, but I don't have a cd changer unit to tap into. I did a custom install on my Landrover for my xm. I went in the changer wires and installed a relay switch. It's not to hard to make, but again, I'm missing the 6 disc changer. & $800 is a lot for the changer.

Email me if you find out any other info and I'll do the same
