  1. My 2004 Targa: Oil pressure right in the middle between 4 and 5 at highway speeds. One bar = 14.2 PSI. Tony C
  2. Leave the thing alone. I have had nothing but poor experiences with the K & N fillters, on other cars not the Porsche and I am sure that same would hold true for the Porsche. On the other two cars, Chevy Camaro and Chevy Truck I noticed NO performance improvements and had two failures that only by luck did not cause significant damage to the engine or in the case of the truck the turbo. The oil gets on the air sensor and can ruin it. Tony C
  3. Sounds like an insurance thing to me, should be covered. I have heard lots of stories of rodents getting into cars and causing a bunch of weird stuff to happen. I new a guy who had a classic car that started to run very poorly. After a ton of troubleshooting they took off the air cleaner assembly and took it apart. in there mice or rats had used it as a warehouse to store things like nuts, grass, straw ect... Tony C
  4. The 996 is a great car. I purchased my Targa at a dealer and got a warrenty. I looked and waited until I found one with low miles in the year I wanted. The only thing that I regret is NOT getting one SOONER! Everytime I drive the car I am happy. Tony C
  5. That is great! And I thought that there were so many problems with the engine  Well done on keeping her in good shape. Tony C
  6. Thank God you are OK. What a shame, as others have said you would be better off with a total. Even if it does get fixed the resale value of the car just took a hugh hit (pardon the pun), especially with air bag deployment. Get your info. and maybe an attorney ready to fight for you if necessary. If you could buy it (don't know how this works) and part it out you could come out of this OK. Good Luck. T
