  1. Could someone list all the parts that would be required for this? I want to order everything so when I start, I don't have to wait for some small little screw or do dad. Thanks
  2. If I put GT3 Wheels on a 99 C4 narrow body 996 with RoWo suspension, will there be any issues? ie rubbing, performance degradation, etc. I think the wheels look beautiful so I am not concerned about aesthetics. It is functional issues I am concerned about. Thanks in advance for your insightful commentary.
  3. Where do you get that mounting arm for the back?
  4. UcrazyKid, please continue to post your progress. I would be interested in installing one of these too. Which brand do you think you will purchase? Thanks
  5. Porsche turbo bumper question I have a 1999 C4 Cab. A little more than 2 years ago, I replaced the front bumper with a turbo style bumper. It is made of fiberglass so there are some surface imperfections associated with that. I can live with that for now. The problem I have is that the air intakes do not mate up with the rubber air inlets behind the bumper. This causes less than sufficient air flow to get to the radiators. So, my question is, what solution have others employed to solve this problem? – By the way, I would like correct this problem the car runs hotter than it used to before – not much but certainly noticeable. Thanks.

  7. my right turn siganl bulb needs replacing. Anys topics on this? I could not readily find them. - Sorry
  8. I will check the cap as suggested. Loren - I did not see any leaks (not saying that there were not any, just that I did not see any). The tank is a "00" - ****! I'll let you know more as I keep an eye on this issue
  9. I have started smelling antifreeze (coolant) vapors when I get done driving. Could this be an expansion tank replacement issue or some other problem? Thanks
  10. I agree, legal action should be a last resort. I should have made that more clear in my first post. Try to work it out with the shop first but just keep in mind that they have an obligation to fix the damage if they caused it.
  11. I am an attorney in Michigan. I had the same problem with a top that a shop put a hole in and then tried to insinuate that the hole was already there. When I did not accept that stupid line of reasoning, they said their insurance would pay for it. Then their insurance said that they would only cover the depreciated amount of the top. I did not care, I was not in contract with the insurance company - the repair shop was. Long and short of it is that I finally called an attorney friend of mine who threatened a law suit on my behalf (it sounds better coming from someone other than you when a law suit is mentioned). Needless to say, the shop covered the full expense but only after some hassle. What I suggest for you is that you let them know that the part was in absolute working condition when you dropped it off to them. It is their job to prove otherwise (good luck to them). Second, if they refuse, kindly suggest that you will have to seek legal remedy if needed. Get an estimate for the work from another place to make a record of the damage. I think that will solve the problem - they do not want to ***** of influential customers who have other friends who might need work done too.
  12. Hey Gabo2k, can you still get the same deal on those tires? - If so, I sure would like to order a complete set for my 99 C4. 225 and 285's like yours. Please PM me and let me know. Thanks
  13. what ever you do, do not go to Munks Motors in Waterford - they hacked my car and then gave me the run around in taking responsibility. Depending on what you need done (you should call the shop to assess the situation) you could try http://www.nikolasmotorsport.com/ in Keego Harbor. I have heard goods things about them. Fred Lavery Porsche dealer in Birmingham is good. Problem with them is that you have to talk directly to the shop tech to understand what's best for your car. The people at the counter have no clue. Bill Cook, the Porsche dealer in Novi, was good for me but only for fixing an alarm issue (grounding wire). Don't have any other experience with him. Avoid Birmingham Imports and their repair facility, somewhere in and around their facility. I have experienced nothing but problems with them and heard stories of the same from others. As it turns out, one of their managers got indicted on a stolen car scam from what I heard. Never checked it out - did not want to know. Good luck.
  14. how about just an automatic mute when it is below 30 mph instead of turning it off?
  15. I ran into this article too. I don't think I would do it myself if I had the RMS issue (knock on wood). Article seemed very detailed and informative but since the opinion is that he is not even using the right procedure, I don't think the article has any value.
  16. Should I try to remove the plastic before I buff it out?
  17. I was cleaning the surface of my dial gauges with a standard window cleaner and started to notice spots developing right away. I thought some water might clear up the problem but it only got worst. Thought it was condensation and the problem would resolve itself in a few days. No such luck. The spots are still there as you can see in the attached photos. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? Will I have to replace the clear face to solve the problem? - I hope not!! I have tried to wipe them off but I think they are on the inside surface of the clear glass or plastic (what ever the material is).
  18. Will the 8.5 inch wheel fit on a C4 99 996? Second question: will the following fit the same car? 18x8.5 et 50mm and 18x10.5 et 60mm. Thanks
  19. How much do the GT3 (on the 2003+ GT3) wheels weigh?
  20. Thanks Loren. That thread helped but it did not describe how to take the two pieces apart. For future reference, if anyone wants to know, I detached the two tabs (pink arrows above) and then firmly pulled the two pieces apart. The opposite side of the housing has 2 tabs as well. They just pull apart once the first 2 are released.
  21. I have placed black arrows on the parts that I think I need to seperate in order to access the vertical rib as described above. The pink arrows point to 2 tabs that I can seperate. Even when I do this, the two parts do not come apart. What am I missing?
  22. Loren, I read this thread. I understand how to remove the air vent, what I am asking is, once I have taken the air vent out, how do I take it apart so I can swap some pieces with another vent? Thanks for the fast reply.
  23. I remember seeing a mod where the high beam stalk switch triggers the garage door opener. Where is that? - I would like to do that one instead even though this thread describes an ingenious setup. Way to go Orient Express!
