  1. Thanks Loren. Car will no longer run. Had it idling and a series of warning lights fired off sequentially after the battery light and then the car shut down. It was flatbedded to the mechanic this morning, initial thoughts are the alternator are shot, but I'll get the official dianostic later. Will post the results.
  2. I've got a '03 986 S. The battery warning light came on while driving the car home yesterday. Nothing seemed amiss and all the electronics continued to work. I just had the 60k service done and an AOS replacement. Does anyone know if anything from that service, if not been properly refastened could wiggled loose and cause the warning light, or is it coincidental (story of my life with this car) and am I now looking at something more painful ($$). You guys have helped me out before, looking for some advice.
  3. I had the same problem last summer on my '03 S. Clutch pedal had progressively grown stiffer, then driving to work felt the pedal give. Clutch still engaged with no slippage, albeit much further in the pedal travel. Ended up being a cracked pressure plate.
  4. I've got a '03 986 S (six speed) with 49k miles that seems to have developed a roaring noise coming from the back left wheel at speeds exceeding 40mph. I was afraid it was the tires, but they only have 6k miles on them and the problem developed in one day. Parked the car at the office, on the drive home it sounded like I was driving a Jeep with mud tires, it's ridiculous on the freeway. Research on here sounds like I may have a bad wheel bearing. I'm not much of a DIY, so my question is what am I likely to get charged to replace the two rear wheel bearings. I've been visiting the dealer I purchased it from since it was under CPO warranty, but that should be expiring shortly. I'm in San Diego, anyone use an independent they can recommend in the Mid to North County area?
  5. Thanks, I'll try changing out the parking bulbs.
  6. Hi, new member here with probably a dumb question, but... I've got a '03 Boxster S that I've recently upgraded the standard lights to the Litronics I purchased online. Opted not to install the control unit that I received with the lights. Did the install and high/low beams and turn signals work fine. However, the parking lights don't function. Does anyone know if the parking lights are controlled by the second connectors that would go to the control unit or should they have worked without? Figured I'd ask before I bought new bulbs.
