  1. Loren, I couldn't find the TSB that you mentioned above and sinc eI have a Cab, I am VERY interested. Thanks. Update: I just had the new cab rear locking mechanism installed by the dealer yesterday. This was a BIG improvement in fixing most of the noises.
  2. How often are you suppose to change your coolant? What's the normal going price for P coolant? Thanks!
  3. Has anybody installed the new cab top locking kit that suppose to stop your cab top from groaning? The new TSB was released in Jan. 2005 and affects vehicles with a production date of 8/2004 and earlier. This the screw down type rear locking mechanism as opposed to the bayonet type. Thanks! (edit - I have removed the attached TSB - as these are only for Contributing Members - Loren)
  4. You don't need to have the electronics installed to have PSE. The electronics control the sound through a vacuum bypass valve and a momentary switch to activate/deactivate the PSE sound. Without the electronic control, the PSE will be in bypass (on) all the time. I installed the full PSE with electronics myself. My dealer quoted me $1100 for labor for a full installation, and $200 for just the mufflers.
  5. You should install the rubber coupling the came with the PSE kit to either #30 or # 38 on the intake distributor. These may be a litlle harder to get at, but I would not splice into the existing ones.
  6. Are the GHL or PSE people having any of the resonances? This is the first I have heard of any undesireable noises from Fabspeed, and now I am worried about buying a set.... Absolutely no resonance with the PSE...that was one of the reasons I went with PSE. My service advisor warned me about the resonance problem with Fabspeed.
  7. There are many posts on this subject. I believe if you reverse the check valve, the operation will be reversed.
  8. Do you remember if there are clips holding the top center section? I don't see any on mine, but it's a bit loose at the top, meaning I could move the plastic trim if I pull on the upper piece. Is it suppose to be that way? Thanks Tool Pants.
  9. Does #3 snap into place? When I installed my horseshoe, the upper section didn't snap in, and seemed to be a bit loose at the upper middle. Thanks!
  10. Hi Jeff, Your tips were great...saved my bacon! I have a cab, so it was a little tricky running the two wires to the engine compartment. Thanks for all your help!
  11. I completed the PSE with electronics install. It was pretty straightforward, however, there were MANY errors with the instructions, particularly the wiring instructions. Other than that, it was well worth my time as the dealer quoted me around 10 hours @ 145/hr. Besides the PSE install, I completed the garage door opener switch and rear spoiler switch mods. It took about 8 hours to complete once I realized the instructions were wrong, then I used common sense.
  12. Loren, Should I install it at a 45 degree angle so it pivots to the mounting bolt? Thanks, Mike
  13. Here is a picture of the relay carrier. It would seem simple to install, albeit I am not having any luck. Thanks, Mike
  14. It was hard to remove the relay carrier, but even harder trying to install it. Can someone please advise the best/easiest way to install it? It only has one nut holding it but I can't seem to get the side that snaps into place to align. Thanks, Mike
  15. I am thinking of painting my rear console in aluminum look. Does anyone know where I can purchase the paint so it matches the factory alum. in the rest of my car? I may decide to paint it A/S, since my car is A/S. I am not sure what would look better, A/S or the aluminum look? Thanks!
  16. uberjeph I have a question concerning the removal of the radio for the PSE install. Why do you have to remove it? I would assume that you would remove the "horseshoe" to get to the center console switch blanks to install the PSE switch. I am unclear why you should remove the radio. Could you please clarify. Also, is it necessary to remove the rear spoiler (bumper) to install the exhaust? I wouldn't think so. Many thanks, Mike
  17. To remove the mufflers, is it necessary to remove the rear spoiler (bumper cover) to facilitate the removal? Thanks
  18. uberjeph Good post! I will be attempting to complete a "full" PSE installation, soon. I have a cab. and I know the install has some minor differences than the coupe. Hmm...maybe I should just pay the dealer a $1,000 to do the installation?
  19. 996.111.985.01 is this the correct P/N for a PSE that will fit a MY2003 996? Thanks
  20. We are not talking about a lot of money here, are we? A $130 replacement seems to be a cheap solution to your problem. Yes? I would say buy the new pulls from Jason at Brandywine, have your buddy install them, and be done with it. Simple?
