  1. Guys, I nee a new battery for my Boxster S - this one has been in since I bought it 3.5 years ago and it's getting a little tired. Anything special that I should look out for ?. Cheers, Mike
  2. I have bought one of the clips for holding the gear lever in place when you check / adjust the cables (a white one) can someone point me towards the instructions for using this please. Thanks, Mike.
  3. Ah - well make that 4 versions then - do you know the other difference ????
  4. An easy one for you TP - how many variations on 986 hardtops and what are the differences ??. Mike.
  5. You just need to unscrew the torx bolts and swap over the new one
  6. When I had the resistor problem the fan would not come on with A/c or high temperature. The easiest way to access it is to loosen or remove the wheel-arch liner.
  7. I had a similar problem and it was the resistor
  8. Just had a look on my 2000 S - no manifold cats - just the one either side like Toolpant first and third photos, my old 2.5 was the same. These are both UK cars. Mike.
  9. TP - is that (000 721 961 90) the part number for the tool ??. Cheers, Mike.
  10. Hi Percy - I had an elephant wing hard top on my 99 last winter - it's for sale if you want to buy it (but Acrtic Silver)
  11. I had this on my 2000 S - it was the bearing on the wishbone link that goes to the bottom of the strut, the rear one of the two (should make sense when you see them). I couldn't just buy the bearing though, had to buy the complete link - cost about £150 - about $240. Mike.
  12. The horn beep is probably down to one of three things - cubby-hole beneath your elbow is open, front or rear boot open. Try those. Mike.
  13. If they are the same as the front ones (I know that one of them is) - then the ball joints are not replace-able - you have to replace the whole arm. Mike.
  14. I just noticed that when I turn my climate control on that only the Right hand side fan (whilst sitting in the car) comes on - is this correct or should both come on ? Thanks, Mike.
  15. Does anyone have a schematic for the 6 speed "S" box, if so please mail to me on mike.jennings"at"zen.co.uk. Thanks, Mike.
  16. Dear All, My suspension has just started creaking (well in the last week) it may have been since I jet-washed my wheels, so I could have unintentionally jet-washed a suspension-bush or something - is there anything that is usually greased as part of a service ??. Ideas welcomed. Cheers, Mike.
  17. Does anyone know where the drain plug and filler are on the 6-speed "S" manual transmission. I think I've found the filler hole about half way back on the left side (from the rear - the driver's side in the US), but nothing lines up with the hole in the undertray. Also are they just hex / allen keys or something more exotic like a Torx. Any ideas gratefully received - even better a schematic would be excellent. Cheers, Mike.
