  1. Well, the verdict is in. It works with full functionality! Happy with everything. Oh, my old cluster was "RB4" new one is "RB8" and all is good! I don't know. It just works and works fine!
  2. Here are two photos of the LED light assemblies installed. The LEDs look exactly like those shown in the previous link i provided.
  3. I know this is an older topic but to answer your question, i just put these on my 2004 Cayenne Turbo and they are perfect. No faults, straight plug-and-play. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2006-Porsche-Cayenne-S-Turbo-SUPER-BRIGHT-LED-Tail-Light-Brake-Lamps-Smoke/331036598045?_trksid=p3693.m2452&_trkparms=aid%3D333005%26algo%3DRIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D265%26meid%3D5665870121849300041%26pid%3D100102%26prg%3D1140%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26
  4. Just recently, I had a screwy problem with the right front turn signal and right hi-beam operation. turned out to be the short wiring harness from main harness to headlight assembly mounting tray. insulation was cracked and falling of. No shorts and all volt-ohmmeter readings worked. changed harness, voila! Fixed.
  5. Hello, just to update, I'll have the definitive conclusion to this early next week.
  6. The donor cluster is 2004 Turbo. It is RB8. Euro Cayennes had different clusters in 2004. US clusters are RB8. I decoded the donor turbo's VIN to be doubly sure that it is a 2004 like mine and, yup, it is.
  7. I intend to have my dealer install and code it after I get it back from the mileage change. Sure do hope it works well!
  8. Well, I guess I'll find out soon. Using an outfit in Colorado that will flash the donor eeprom to reflect my existing mileage. From what I've seen, MY2004 has a separate Immobilizer Module (not in cluster) If it works I'll let all know. If not, I'll be eBay'ing the donor cluster! thank you.
  9. Well, I don't know! The one currently in my 2004 CT is a CS cluster and the donor cluster is from a 2004 CT. What's the difference and how would i determine that?
  10. Hello, I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo that for some unknown reason has an S cluster installed. I just got a Turbo cluster from a parted out 2004 CT that works. I have someone who can and will flash the EEPROM in the donor cluster to display my current actual mileage rather than what it displays. I think I'm correct in that the Immobilizer Module is not in the cluster but rather a separate entity. My question(s) is should I expect this swap to work or are there other issues inherent with this work? The donor cluster does function fully as does my existing S cluster. Thank you in advance.
  11. A 914 @ 26; first 911 @ 32; current 996 @ 54
  12. Exactly the same motions. Normal deploy; abnormal retraction. No annunciator indications.
  13. 2001 996C2 Coupe, Tiptronic, USA. I've noticed that my rear spoiler does not retract fully. It retracts when decelerating through the proper speed and there are no fault lights. The problem is that it doesn't fully retract--it's about 2 inches out from being fully stowed in the horizontal plane. Vertically, it's all the way down. I can push it in by hand to the proper position and there it stays until the next cycle. Any clues???
  14. Won't and can't happen. The 911 (now 997, of course) was and is always at the top of the Porsche food chain. No variant of any other product line can ever exhibit more performance than the 911. Period. Nothing mystical about it. As to previous variants of the 911 (T, E, S, et al.) they were all variants of the 911--not versions that existed in other product lines at Porsche. So, within each year's line-up at Porsche, the 911 will ALWAYS be the top dog. Can't have it your way--it's not the Burger King. You get it the Porsche AG way or you don't get it at all! Personally, I agree with that. B)
  15. You could always go with 17" rims. They're 50/40 profile, front/rear.
  16. 2001 C2 w/18" rims, here. P-Zero Rosso's came on the car and I agree that they're the loudest things ever. Very sticky on the pavement but wear-out like pencil erasers. I now have Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions and can tell you they are FAR superior for my tastes. Quiet, handle well (no track, open road) and good cost factor. I keep mine at the recommended tire pressures and everything is still nice and quiet (relative to the Pirelli's). I'd be a little leery of running too low tire pressures unless all of your driving is on ultra smooth, new pavement. Wouldn't want to bend a rim--35 profile tires place the rim mighty close to the road!
  17. Thank you, Loren. My shop can't seem to get it right. :cursing:
  18. Greetings, What is the part number for the right rear bumper guard (bumperette) for a 2001 C2 coupe Tiptronic US car? Can't seem to find it in the 996 Tech forum. Thank you in advance. Don
  19. If you have the vertical space, this is an option, too. http://www.hardingsteel.com/?gclid=CJSSxKS...CFR2zgAodtThX1A
  20. Don't know. But, I've never known Porsche to be too keen on keeping up with non-performance items. It'll happen, but as one of the most profitable car manufacturers, there wouldn't seem to be much impetus to tackle this one. ;)
  21. are you having fun with us? that's how much it takes, friend B)
