  1. Might add the rear windows are stuck down. Top pops then errors out. It will close, but rear windows stay down and don't respond to door switch.
  2. Been a couple of years, but I finally got my car GTS 2012. Got it home and went to show it off to the wife, no Bueno Message on dash convertible top not in limits. Did a search, most suggest a trip to the dealer, tomorrow. Meanwhile anyone seen this before, see pic. Thanks
  3. Talked to my Indy today, mine seems to be an AOS.
  4. I have the same thing going on. I suspect it is the same thing.
  5. Well I sent it off on a flat bed to the Indy shop here in Sac. I suspect there is a procedure to lower the engine to inspect and enable a repair, but at this point I need to get this old girl back on the road. Stay tuned fellas I will update what I learn from the Indy. Thanks for all your replies.
  6. I tend to agree, I used a mirror and could not see the tank leaking. Took it out anyway so I could get a better look. appears to be coming from the front of the motor, not the tank that is for sure. I'll post later tonight.
  7. Last night, in the dark, I thought I had an oil leak. Turns out it is water aka coolant. I raised the car up and could not find the source. I started the car everything sounded fine. No leaking let it idle for 10 minutes still no leak. Drove it around the block and looked again and it was raining coolant from what looked like the front of the left side of the motor. The heat shields were in the way so I could not get a good look. I took a couple of pictures. Any thoughts as to next steps before I blow my bonus over at the dealer service department?
  8. Puddle is directly under the oil filter, near as I can tell...I gave it a quick look on my way out the door today. Appears the puddle might be water with antifreeze. Could explain the oily feel last night when I dragged my hand through it. Nothing conclusive yet. I will jack up the car tonight and crawl under it for a closer inspection. Sure hope this amounts to something trivial <fingers crossed>
  9. Yes, here in Roseville. I will roll under the car tomorrow after work and look for the source. The car is a 2003 C4 80K miles. so far been very tight. Appreciate the tips, keep them coming. I will report back tomorrow night with pics. Thanks guys
  10. Heart break comes to mind.... I went off to enjoy a great spring day, run to the gym etc. later tonight I see I have a fresh puddle of oil under the car (i am guessing 1/2 qt) . Any suggestions what I might begin with looking for? Car seems to run fine with no abnormal symptoms.
  11. agree, I did find one out there for a ~$100.00 after some searching. Btw, I found that bicycle tire levers work well for popping off the door panel. Best of luck
  12. +1 my dealer is all about the "In and out". I did a pretty basic boot change for $9.00 that the dealer quoted me $500.00. All about supporting the economy, but gee some of these charges are driving me to seek out a good indy.....aka...me!
  13. I used a 2x4 to leverage the control arm down a few inches and then pulled the carrier towards me.
  14. liquid wrench must have helped, plus I used a jack stand to support the extension and used a lonnnnng cheater--thanks Archimedes!!! I leaned on it with all my might and it moved! Then I had a start, that maybe I just "buttered" the nut!! Well it was loose, yay! Talk about a right of passage before you can take off the axle. Any way.... I have the axle rebuilt now new boots etc. now I just have to clean all the grease off that had been flying all over. What a mess! I did notice that both the tierod and control arm boots have small tears. They look like old wounds, as I used the right tool to pop the joints; none the less, I need to figure out what to do about the boots before I reassemble The best news is that I have been taking pictures and I hope to share the procedure with anyone with a C4 in the future. The Pedro and Pelican parts DIY are helpful, but are not specific to the front drive. Cheers Greg
  15. Well I am all set to tackle my torn CV boot on my 03 C4. And guess what, I can't get passed the removal of the axle nut! I used a 3/4 breaker car with a jack handle cheater and managed to twist the end off the extension!!! Friend used his impact on it and we stopped for fear we were going to round off the nut. I left it soaking with some liquidwrench. I'll go get a new extension tomorrow. Thinking I might have to try heating it up with a torch. Any tips out there??
  16. Took my car (03 C4 cab) in for an alignment and I was told that my CV boot is torn and spraying grease. btw I did notice the grease last couple of times I washed the wheels. Estimate for repair is $500.00. !! Yikes! I would like to tackle this myself, is there any DIY writeups? I did a search and did not find anything that was step by step. Appreciate any help! Thanks Greg
  17. Good way to start the new year. My window would not drop the 1/2 inch.....hmmm what to do? Well I used the search function read all the posts, viewed the photos and diagrams. I then spent $93.00 for a new regulator and two easy 1/2 days later and I am successful! The window is a tiny bit slower than the passenger window, but I am pretty happy with my project. Thanks to everyone for their posts! Happy New Year, indeed!
  18. +1 I replace my dash and door speakers with Focal brand. Very happy with the results.
  19. Well I would like to see the look on the referee's face when you pop the engine cover.
  20. I too am very impressed. Question: Will it pass SMOG in Ca? Cheers!
