  1. I reused mine but I wish I bought new ones. real pain to get the old ones clean. I tried acetone, brake cleaner, and a Chem-dip tank.
  2. There is a known problem with the 997.1 fobs. Suncoast sells new buttons. Basically they take away some of the plastic on the button. You can do it yourself with a dremel tool. Just file down the button to just above the little mold dot on the side. Works great. I did it to mine and have not had my frunk openon accident again. I think someone did a write up on 6speed.
  3. Are you sure you have the input and output correct on the fiber optic cables?
  4. You might try the other wire in the phone harness for constant power. The phone harness has three wires. One was switched, constant, and brown was ground.
  5. Nice thing about going through a dealer would be funds will clear. No worries about bad checks. Also, most states you save on sales tax. You only pay sales tax on the diiference in price of the cars and not the total on the new car. This can be a few thousand dollar in some states.
  6. The upgrade from the 996 world to the 997 is very nice. I just went from a 996 40 edition to a 997tt. Worlds apart on fit and finish. The nice thing about the 996tt is the engine. It is ROCK SOLID. With the 997 you will always worry about the whole IMS bearing issue.
  7. If you install them with out any of the additional hardware then they are in the always ON position.
  8. Don't know if it works or not. It has not be released to the public yet. I would bet it is just a fancy/hacked remote bar-b-que grill thermometer. Every bearing the I have had go bad gets hot first. But I also believe IMS failures are a small number.Just my 2 cents.
  9. You wil have a button the the left side of the horse shoe with a picture of a exhaust tail pipe if it was factory installed.
  10. I doubt a glass claim is going to show up on carfax. Just use a glass shop or the dealership. Do NOT use a body shop and you should be just fine.
  11. Anyone having issue with thier XM units? I just bought a new to me 07 TT that has this installed. It does not work 100% of the time. Sometimes I get in the car, turn on the radio, switch to XM, and then I hear nothing or it will not switch stations. I have to turn the car off completely for it to start working again. I alway shut the radio off before turning the car off too. Thanks, Eric
