  1. If it is made as the same softish plastic/rubber material as the OEM Boxster "flaps" then you will likely find that the body/paint shop is unwilling to guarantee the paint job. The more "flex" in the material, the more likely the paint bond will crack over time. It shouldn't really matter unless you believe they will be getting a lot of action from rock impacts. I had my mudflaps painted about about 2 months the paint pealed off and looked horrible
  2. I had 17mm spacers on my 22s and they didnt do much but worked :)
  3. I know how you feel. I also hate to break something, even minor like that. I actually broke the same fin while changing one of my side marker bulbs. I put the headlight assembly back in place, and it seems stable so I left it. I haven't had a problem. I also have a Crystal Silver Cayenne. I'd love to see a photo with the new red badge. I saw a Cayenne in Munich, Germany last month that had a Porsche crest on the rear hatch instead of a Cayenne badge. I thought it looked awesome. I don't know if this was a modification or if this is how it is done in Germany, but it looked really good. Another option to consider. I have lost a headlamp on the highway totaly gone destroyed HID and all cost 720 for the lamp assembly and 160 for my HID :(
  4. i have a CAN II tester its great resets fault codes n views them ebay - $50
  5. gixxer i have the same set up as you (AERO KIT) what bulbs did you use for the fogs?
  6. I have replaced the badge on mine used some goof off to remove excess adhesive :)
  7. There is a adapter from POLLACK thats a round adapter to a 4 pin i use it to trailer my jetski....Check my posts :)
  8. I am unaware of any changes or differences with the lighting you can try www.hoenusa.com
  9. i will try orignal bulbs just a little cold out here in the northeastern US :) its just odd that the bulbs havnet done this for 2 yrs and started now.
  10. Hello All I have a Cayenne and the last 2 days it has faulted on warning saying "Check Fog Lamps" even though the fog lamps are illuminated. It has never faulted like this before even though they are aftermarket HIDs. And this morning i had the lights off and it still faulted out...is this a job for the PIWIS tester/Dealer it still will not go away..ideas? ;)
  11. The fibre optic cable is a 'ring' ie to work it must either route through the changer or 1. the cable replaced or 2. a loop back cable added. The later I think you can get but it isn't a porsche part. would it work though?
  12. So i removed my cd changer but once removed my speakers dont work...I plug it back in and its fine....any ideas how to take the CD Changer out and have my speakers working? Marco
  13. Marco, interested in selling it when you get it out? Yes i am acutally interested in selling i know there not cheap ;) and mudman send a email to tipocaldo at gmail dot com thanks :)
  14. Maybe that would work if you had some tiny passengers. I'd still be a little concerned about safety. Also - there are no seatbelts back there. I WOULD ADVISE AGAINST any and all humans in the cargo area :D
  15. How do you know the switch is ok? it might be that lower driver side switch i assume your CTT isnt under warranty?
  16. Hello i have a OEM CDC4 changer how do i remove it from the rear compartment any ideas? Thanks Marco PS the rigth bracket i can get to but the left is a bit difficult
  17. i mounted mine left of rearview mirror I tried several different spots, and just under the mirror seemed to me to offer the best visibility and the least obstruction for the radar detector. Do you have a pic showing how you mounted yours? sure do PS Valentine 1 told me to mount the device next to or above rearview mirror for the most accurate readings. What are your thoughts? I also had it below the Mirror but the rear seats were blocking the rear-detector.
  18. I'm looking at a Boxster in the Bay Area tomorrow (supposed to be an "us" car, but really its for my wife). I'm in Orangevale, have never owned a Porsche before, and have no idea where the good service places are, etc. However I know what a wrench is, and I'm certainly interested in doing some of this stuff myself. First step is getting the car... Rich Im interested but im in NJ :( :renntech:
