  1. Used the vertex solution last year after the rubber holding the original blew apart in my 2006 cayenne s titanium. Thought a wheel came off the car it was so loud. Took an hour with repacking the bearing and not replacing the flex disc. Car ran perfect until I totaled it sept. 2015. Ive since replaced it with another 2006 Titanium with over 200km and waiting for this one to break. Will probably use the Vertex again. Bought it direct from EPS for 399 no tax no shipping.
  2. just bought an 06 titanium with xm after crashing and totaling my 05 with sirius and a lifetime subscription. is it as simple as swapping the xm module with the sirius module? antenna? cost? also i dont have the cd changer in this car and im also thinking about adding bluetooth and iphone capability maybe with a dension system? any thoughts? Thanks joe
  3. My warnings chime (bell) stopped working for months now on my 05 cayenne S. This is the same sound for all vehicle warnings....seat belts, low fuel, exceeding mph, lights on, etc. Could this be the actual sounder/speaker? is it separate from the audio system? or might it be a computer problem?....maybe it will show up with my Durametric? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks Joe
  4. Got it!....Thanks Craig...it is a lousy connection right at the drain...sort of a loose ball joint affair...very sloppy...just pulled it off and wiped a little silicone sealant on the ball and popped the blue tube back on...over a week now..no sign of leakage....a bit of work pulling those panels off...gotta be careful when the clips pop out of the plastic and stay in the body metal...had to use a flat wonderbar nail puller at each clip location...made it easier...hope this helps anyone else with this problem...hope I dont get the problem on the other side now
  5. see my post "32000 miles"....original pads are only half worn....what kind of mileage are you guys getting? Downshift Baby!
  6. most reviews were negative there. Maybe I just got lucky? I do need all weather.
  7. Need to finally replace my scorpion zeros at 32000 miles on my 05 Cayenne S. From what I've read on this forum seems like I got almost double the mileage I should have. All tires wore perfectly even without any alignment problems. I did rotate them twice. Also my original brake pads are only half worn. I drive mostly spirited and occasionaly agressive. I also use my tiptronic to downshift almost always because I heard Cayennes going through brakes fast. Did I do good? Anyone else have a similar story? And does anyone recommend a better tire choice for 18" rims ? I will probably stick with the Scorpions again.
  8. Craig, Haven't been here in a while but was surprised to see more info on this.....thanks a lot im going to try and fix very soon....... Joe
  9. Craig... Sounds like the exact same problem I have. First do you have to remove the headliner to get to it?....is that difficult?....what exactly was leaking?... the tube connection? Thanks Joe
  10. I had my 05 s tiptronic gear shifter fixed over a year ago when it started acting intermitently. Sometimes it would not up**** or downshift even after mulitiple tries. It would just sort of get stuck. Dealership fixed it. I think they replaced some component maybe a switch in the gear shift mechanism. I just recently had the same problem return ad this time the gear shifter itself started feeling broken. First the car wouldnt shift all the time then the shifter itself started getting harder to shift into any position. Like it was breaking physically. Dealership made it like new again. The correct "feel" is back and it shifts every time. My question is why does my durametric software come up with fault code 1045 that i cannot erase? When I try to erase that code the program just hangs with the arrows spinning. Ive left it hanging for over 10 minutes thinking maybe this fault just takes longer. TRied it 6 times. Fault wont go away. Do I maybe still have a problem with my selector lever switch? should I be concerned? Maybe it wasnt repaired correctly? Thanks Joe
  11. Loren I also just used my durametric for the first time and got the same fault code...it erased but I havent checked to see if it came back. No I never disconnected or drained the bat. Will let you know if it returns. Can i also get the info you sent to dsp turtle? thanks joe
  12. Thanks Loren....I figured those drains to be where your pics indicate....question is how do I get at them to either check for poor fitting connections or simply to blow them out....Cant see where the tube exits the car. Shouldnt it be in the rear wheel well? Even if its clogged wouldnt the water just remain in the roof rail slots and simply not flow down the tube? I have a feeling its just a matter of poor connections and they are leaking. How do I get at them? Thanks again Joe
  13. Anyone else having this problem? I get water almost every time it rains or wash the car dripping inside the drivers side rear storage compartment. At first I thought it was the rear window. Its not as I water tested it with a garden hose and it wouldnt leak. Finally I brought it into the dealership and they said it was a clogged drain. So they cleared it claiming it really wasnt something I could do myself. It seemed to be ok for about a year. It happened again and after taking it back this last time it still leaks. Every time it rains even if the car isnt driven. In fact the car has been sitting unused because I just got out of surgery. So it sat for weeks getting rained on. Is there a drain from the roof that can get clogged? If so shouldnt it be fairly easy to blow clear with compressed air? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Joe
  14. i also have some buggy issues with regard to seat settings and memory. especially after my wife uses her key ( programmed with her settings). But i also notice that my headlight washers will only wash one time, and will not wash a second time until i shut the engine and restart. might this also be related to the comfort control unit? thanks joe
  15. i would like to know how to check / top off the trans fluid also....it is nowhere to be found in the manual... also would like to know how to replace oil filter on my 2005 s...anybody know thanks joe
