  1. Update: This was caused by the blown fuse D3 (convertible top drive motor)
  2. Does anyone know how convertible top module 'knows' the position of the window? Does it go thru the alarm module? I looked at the wiring diagrams and only found window motor activation lines, I'm not sure how window position is interpreted by the modules.
  3. I think the refill plug is in the plastic translucent part (right in the center)
  4. The only fault I get is the operation timeout after I run calibration.
  5. Hello, When doing a convertible top calibration using piwis on my 03 996, it gets stuck after closing the windows. I hear relays clicking in the doors constantly after the windows fully close. Then I get an operation timeout error. In normal operation windows work fine, they close and open with one click, and then I hear relay clicking one time after reaching max/min position. Any idea what might be an issue here? Also, should the calibration start with windows going up and not down? Also, when I trigger windows to go up/down using drive links in piwis, they work fine, with relays clicking once when operation finishes.
  6. Ahsai, Thank you for that information. I checked the resistance between G pin and the metal casing and it's correct with engine on and off. I get the same resistance on the plug that connects to the instrument cluster. What does the 2nd wire (green/white) that goes to the sensor do? With ignition off it has continuity to ground, with ingition on there's no continuity, no voltage and no resistance. [EDIT] I found the info about the green/white wire - it's emergency contact
  7. I tried it in my 2003 911, and also on pre-02 996. same effect. I wanted to try another version of piwis, but wasn't able to find any working download link - all of them expired. Does anyone have v31 available?

Hello All, Few months ago I bought PIWIS from ebay (T30 with piwis v29 installed + KTS 520) and everything seemed to be working fine so far, but I just noticed that it doesn't see all the modules in my Porsche 996. I scanned two cars with it and didn't find convertible top module in either of them, also it gives an error when trying to open ABS/PSM module. I ran a PAG plug test and I got an error saying that system didn't respond. I then did some research online and found out that the cable I had was a chinese clone, not an original .504 bosch cable. The only place where I could find a working cable was here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181421870784?item=181421870784&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr I bought it, but it behaves the same way as the old one - PAG plug test fails, all modules work except for PSM and convertible top. Any ideas what might be an issue? Does anyone have piwis VM, installation files or KTS firmware available? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Patrick
  9. Hello, The oil pressure gauge is still not working in my 03 c2 after replacement of the sending unit. Few weeks ago the gauge started go going in and out - showing correct pressure, then dropping to 0, then correct pressure and so on... Recently it stopped showing anything and stays at 0, so I replaced the sending unit, but it didnt help. Now i'm guessing there's a short somewhere in a wiring, but need help troubleshooting it. Here's what I know so far: -resistance values are completely out of range of expected values -there is continuity on both wires from sender unit to the instrument cluster -I measured voltage at the plug behind drivers seat and here are the values: Ignition off: +5V, ignition on: -7V, engine on: -9V. This makes me think that when the ignition is on, it causes 12/14V to flow in the opposite direction to the +5V. -I have piwis scanner and tested the instrument cluster - gauge works Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it further? Seems to me that there must be a short somewhere between instrument cluster and the plug behind driver's seat. Does anybody know if the voltage is supposed to stay at 5V at all times? Thanks, Patrick
