  1. If it is the Rear Main Seal (RMS) it is not fatal, but is not cheap to repair. If I'd had the car for a long time, I would not worry too much about a drop or two. But for a "new" car it is something that should be checked out before money and papers change hands. IMO.
  2. I've switched to the wave from the flash 'cuz I read the current lighting doesn't like brief on state. Also wasn't getting many responses. Not many waves either. Female Box driver just recently blew me off as I pulled from my driveway onto NC 50. I also wave or thumbs up old cars like that MGA a coupla days ago. They get it. 914-4 owners even buy kits to flash their fogs. I think putting the word out on this old tradition is a great idea.
  3. The biggest difference to me was color. I did not want silver. Even Special Anniversary Carrera Silver. Maybe, MAYBE if light gray interior had been an option. The cocoa is interesting, but the "gray" alternative looks like black to me. Side by side with the black car I wanted, either color combo left me cold. The package was a good deal cost wise, but the performance difference is negligible. Apparently the slight performance gain was from using 987 intake. Either car will be fun. I went Boxster S and love it. You can go either way and you will not go wrong!
  4. You need the expensive and hard-to-find R wheels. The offset just cleared my rear fender with 235x15 CN36 (I think) Pirellis.
  5. Wow, THANKS. :clapping: I'm jealous. I even like the black faces on the gauges. Maybe some day I'll get up the courage to do this.
  6. My wife's Grand Cherokee has had a Weathertech rear mat for 7-8 years and it is still in great shape despite some abuse. I'd recommend it.
  7. 1. I use a 10 quart plastic catch pan. Get the really thin one if you are going to leave car on ground. Advance Auto or AutoZone should have containers. Mannie, Moe & Jack in your neck o' the woods. 2. The pan I use has a large drain area with a plug in the middle. After draining oil into pan, pull pan. Plug back in and go to recycle center. Then remove plug on pouring nozzle at the top and dump. 3. Wally World around here. Plus they have it in 5 qt containers.
  8. I Googled Yellow Dog Motorsports and got some quarter midget site about a kid's family team. How do you order the kit?
  9. I agree. The aftermarket tops probably require professional install because they do not come with the metal side strips. If you are good with tools you could probably install a factory top.
  10. I noticed a 910 in the Wanted section of the PCA website classified earlier today. <_<
  11. Did you get the ones with rubber inserts? I worry about street shoes slipping w/o them. Maybe not?

  13. For traditionalists with $14.95. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...y_Code=POTEBXEX
  14. Nick, That is a cool solution. Can't imagine how you found it. That mower axle guy must be a P-car nut!
  15. Lotsa info. http://news.windingroad.com/auto-news/pors...-2008-cayennes/
  16. Hoo boy would this cut beer run times. http://www.edo-competition.de/Porsche-Caye...0.html?&L=2 http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=117538#2
  17. My Box also does a week w/o problem. I use the Porsche charger for longer periods. I figure it has the specs to go with the car, but I did not have all the other options.
  18. Most dealers aren't good with the older cars. My description seemed challenged at best.Glad I could help.
  19. The light is a round shaped connector that fits into a cylinder hole in the back of the speedo. A wire runs directly into it. Just pull the lip outward with your fingernails. Bulb is inside the cylinder you pull out. Best I remember there are two of them.
  20. Not in LA area, but no sales tax and VERY reliable. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lydIk5fcblS/c...52150&avf=N
  21. Westcoaster is on the mark about paintless dent removal.. High end dealers can point you to a reliable service. Most of these guys make the rounds of their customers and will meet you at a dealer parking lot or your own work place.
  22. I don't know about the gotchas as much as the wantas. Ya wanta glass rear window go 03. The rest are personal prefs. I had to have heated seats, cruise control, and Carrera lites. If the right car is missing something easy to add, add it after you buy it. Electric adjustable seats are hard to add. A hardtop is easy. The more cars you look at (on-line or in person) the better you'll know which options are critical. Other than that the standard advice is to buy the best quality car you can afford. And enjoy the hunt!
  23. I don't know of that model. The Becker North America site has some and promises more. I guess you'll just have to check periodically. Go to What's New and scroll down a bit. http://www.beckerautosound.com After thought - Got to Becker Board and post. Someone might be able to help. http://www.beckerautosound.com/beckerboard
