  1. Check your option codes: if your car has M660 then use 996-201-221-03 Carbon Cannister -- US MSRP $594.33 if your car has M664 then use 996-201-221-07 Carbon Cannister -- US MSRP $237.33 If you can not find your option codes then send me PM with your VIN and I will look it up for you. Just FYI SAK. mine has part number 996-201-221-03 and that's the one with the line out the bottom. And just my luck the more expensive of the two. I'm getting the same P0446 code. Randy PS Call Sunset Porsche for pricing. I received quotes for consideribly less than MSRP.
  2. Todd, Do you have a picture or can you point me in the direction to a diagram as to where the purge line is Thanks, Randy
  3. I've done a search on here with no luck, as far as where to get Silver Gauge Cluster trim for MY 1999 Boxster. Also searched Google with no luck. Does anyone know where this stuff is availible? Trying to dress up the interior of my Boxster a tad. Thanks for your help in advance. Randy
  4. Thanks for your input Loren. Since I don't drive much at night. It's no big deal now. And if I do. I usually drive me truck as my 986 originated in CA, The windows are a very dark tint. To the point I have to roll them down to make a left turn on a 4 lane road. So I can see the median and not run over it. But I'll take your advice when the time comes. Thanks again, Randy
  5. Well, I happend to stop by the Porsche Dealer and talked the service manager. He explained to me that MY99 did not have a shipping mode. So what next or is he blowing smoke to charge me to work in the immobilizer? Thanks, Randy
  6. If you're replacing the water pump and Thermostat on a 1999 2.5 Boxster and want to purchase the hose's for both. Water pump hose number is, 996-106-222-17 Thermostat hose is. 996-106-502-06 The thermostat hose is near impossible to find on the net unless you know the part number.. So there ya go. Randy
  7. I'm in search of this part number as well. Below is a pic of the hose. It's the one with the red arrow pointing to it. Pelican does not list the hose as a thermostat hose on there site in the new parts catalog. So hard to tell what part number is correct for the hose as it like the Porsche OEM parts blow up just shows allot of hoses with no description for this particular part. At least that I can find... Mine is a 1999 986 none S Thanks, Randy
  8. I'll be replacing my pump and installing the low temp thermostat insert in the near future. Can you guys tell what the part numbers are for the hoses that connect to those items. I've seen the parts diagram but for the life of me, I can't tell what the immediate parts are that are associated with it. Ton's of hoses in the diagram. But I'm not going to buy every stinking hose right now. LOL Thanks for the help in advance, Randy
  9. Maurice, Thank you very much. That was very helpful! Randy
  10. Does anyone on here have any knowledge of these tops? (link below) Including quality and how hard they are to install, if you have done one yourself. Thanks, Randy http://www.autotopsdirect.com/1997-2002-Porsche-Boxster-Convertible-Top-p/10-07-box-018.htm
  11. JFP, You know me. Always trying to acquire knowledge. Couldn't you just take the fuel line off the fuel pump. Get a piece of fuel line. Connect it to the pump and put it in a bucket. If you get fuel in the bucket. Then the pump is working? Then go down the line. Possibly fuel filter clogged and go from there. Or do the pumps fail to the point, were they may pump fuel. But not at a high enough rate? Just curious. Or is that thought? Completely out to lunch? Thanks for your input!!! Randy
  12. If you're asking for the source as to where to get the button? It's in that DIY. Click on tactile switch link. Randy
  13. As much reading as I have done on these things. And it's TON's. Sounds like fuel issue. Like the fuel pump. Cheap try is to replace the fuel pump relay. Or check the cylinders to see if they are getting fuel into them. Then go from there. Randy
  14. Did it eventualy start after it sat for awhile and did the RPM's just drop down to about 500 then die? Randy
