  1. duram, do I run the adaptation with the engine running or not. Is this the same as when you put the key in the car but not starting it and waiting until you hear the throttle plate move around, then taking the key out and putting it back in again?
  2. The tune has been installed for less than a year. I am trying to figure out if this crankshaft position sensor error a result of a bad battery or is really going bad. Also could a bad crankshaft position sensor lead to timing being pulled under heavy throttle because does it not affect ignition and spark.
  3. Did you end of replacing your crankshaft position sensor. I am having similar problems with the P0335 error for the crankshaft coming up. Is this something I can replace on my own or is it very difficult to get to?
  4. One correction I will make is that it is not the camshaft but the crankshaft position sensor "A" error P0335 that I am now getting. I have had a few episodes of it taking a few seconds for the vehicle to turn over. Is this part easy to replace?
  5. I have an evom tune on my 04 cayenne turbo and been having various issues with getting it to run smoothly. I have for quite some time getting various dme error codes under different categories and I have been told that sometimes this can be battery related, but the battery is less than 2 years old. I also came across some old posts that maybe it is related to a programming error at evom and wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. On top of all this I just had a camshaft sensor error bank 1 come up out of the blue and just reset it to see if it comes back. Martin
  6. The one other question I have is would not the problem be a vibration as oppose to a metal on metal rattling sound that I am hearing and feeling?
  7. I was thinking about that also but I check the carrier for it and moved it around and everything seemed pretty solid. The reason it don't think it is the driveshaft is why would it go away when the car warms up and I can hit wot and it does not happen which is when I would think the driveshaft is under the most stress.
  8. My 04 cayenne turbo has about 62,000 miles on it and over the past couple of weeks it has started to develop a strange rattling underneath the car on the drivers side. It seems to mainly happen under moderate load when the car first starts up but as it warms up, it seems to go away as I can hit WOT later on and it is not there. When it happens I can feel it on my feet as if it is right underneath the driver floorboard. I have looked underneath the car and I pushed things around and nothing seemed obviously loose. I do have secondary cat delete pipes but the mounts are solid and not moving. I would be curious if anyone has experienced anything similar or have ideas about what this could be. It sounds like a metal on metal sound. I also looked in the wheel well and nothing unusual that I can see.
  9. I have a durametric. Can I use this to determine if there is a problem with my VES on my 2004 cayenne turbo. Are there any specific tests for the VES in durametric or do you just look for weird electrical code errors.
  10. I am also curious about the VES module as I am getting some weird electrical issues. Does anyone have a part number. Also in regards to the second battery, I have a 04 turbo with a subwoofer in the back. I am assuming that the subwoofer takes the place of the second battery, but I saw someone mention something about a second battery under the subwoofer?
  11. I have read that some people describe the vehicle electrical module (VES) can do bad and give this message. Do you know what this module is and a part number.
  12. I just finished doing an intake pressure test on my 04 cayenne turbo and when spray some soapy water around the intercooler intake boots (tube connecting plastic intercooler tubes to plenum) and noticed some bubbling around certain parts on each boot which was consistent when I switch the tubes around. Visually the boot doesn't seem to have a major tear in it but there is some air getting through when I do this test. I am not getting any CEL's but I do get some issues with drivability under boost. Could I be getting air leaking out which is not large enough to cause a code but enough the cause air/fuel issues under WOT. Martin
  13. I have been getting this error on durametric labled 907 under electrical. I have no CEL. "Load management operat. on vehicle electrical sys./DME control module - No additional fault status available, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and is not causing a DTC light" I have read it can be related to a bad battery. I reset it and it keeps coming back The battery in the car is an aftermarket one that I do not think is more than 2 years old. I did test it with a battery tester and it is reading as becoming weak. What kind of car symptoms could I expect. Could a bad battery also cause issues with drivability such as misfires etc.
  14. I put the EVOM V-flow air intake in my 04 cayenne turbo and noticed in the instructions that in bold that the MAF sensor should remain in the exact same orientation as stock. I understand the importance of making sure the MAF is in the correct direction of air flow but does the clockwise orientation of the MAF sensor matter. I don't remember exactly what direction they were before when I put them back in, but I think that the connectors were facing towards the middle of the engine on each side. Does this really make a difference because I am having some issues under boost and wondering if the MAF air readings are slightly off because of the different orientation. From what information I could come across, it seams that the angle that the air comes in from the OEM airbox has an effect. Any thoughts by anyone?
  15. Does anyone happen to have the TSB for checking boost leaks with the porsche caps testers. I looked through the TSB on this site and could not find anything. Thanks
  16. Do I need to take the oil cap off when testing to decompress the pcv system.
  17. I just ordered the pressure testing caps from Porsche to do a boost pressure test. What psi should the system hold without a leak and up to what psi can I push through the system in order not to damage something. My understanding is that I connect the caps to the plastic pipes that connect to the turbos after the MAF's and pressurize the system.
  18. I just ordered the pressure testing setup listed above to see if I have a boost leak. I am assuming that I remove the MAF's and connect the two sealing caps to the plastic pipes that go to the turbo on each side? Up to what pressure can I put through the system to check for a leak. I have EVOM diverter valves and wondering what PSI is safe to check for leaks what PSI should normally be held in the system. Thanks.
  19. I went ahead and pulled the plenum off and it did have an o ring inside. Is it still possible to have a vacumn leak and no cel codes. Any suggestions on a simple way to check besides a smoke test. Is spraying carb cleaner to look for a leak helpful and what should I expect to find as my car idles normally
  20. I just looked in my oem plenum and found it. Should that have been taken out and placed in the ipd plenum. Could missing that be enough to cause an intake leak.
  21. I have read the other posts regarding MAF cleaning on a 955 cayenne turbo but do you actually have to take the maf apart to clean it or can you just spray CRC MAF cleaner through the MAF filter screens onto the diode that I see when I look into it or is there a diode hidden higher up that can't be cleaned unless you take the whole thing apart. Thanks.
  22. For those who have the ipd plenum on their cayenne, is there a gasket that goes in between it and the throttle body as when I put it on my 04 cayenne turbo it did not have a gasket and I am wondering if I am getting an intake leak because of this. If there is one, does anyone know the part number.. Thanks.
  23. I put them in the same way that the stock diverters were positioned. Maybe the EVOMs go in backwards?
  24. I am still on the path of trying to fix my surging issue in my 04 tt cayenne and my latest replacement was the N75 valve which at first seemed to make a big difference (but everytime I replace a part in seems to help initially). One thing I have noticed that is consistent is whenever I perform a throttle adaptation, the car pulls hard and drives perfectly for the first few runs, then the surging with heavy throttle sets in. Would anyone be able to explain to me why the car will not continue to perform the same right after the throttle adaptation because I think that it would be silly to have to consistently do it the get the performance from my EVOM tune. Am I maybe overboosting and should be looking for another part that the ECU cannot compensate for. Thanks. Martin
  25. With my 2004 cayenne tt with evom tune and evom diverter valves, I am still trying to determine my surging issue between 2500-4000 and wondering if one faulty diverter valve could be the culprit. I sometimes have heard the swooshing sound that the diverter valve makes when I have accelerated on occasion and wondering how I could check the valves without having to pull them out as the drivers side one is a PIA to get out. I have read that some people have purchased evom valves that have been faulty but I was hoping there is a way to determine a fault in one given our cars have two of them. Martin
