  1. This may not help... but I recently had a similar problem with my old 2000 ML320... what they found it to be was actually the engine mounts were broken. The symptoms: When going from stop to start with mild to heavy acceleration; or kicking it in to pass a car you would hear a clunk and actually could feel it in the seat or on the floor through your feet. What I was feeling was the engine torquing and actually moving. I believe over an extended period of time it could cause more damage to the drive train et. al. Let me reiterate the issue was with a Mercedes ML320 and I had many friends telling me what they thought was wrong but until you take it to a qualified technician I don't know if you can get a good answer. Also, I am a new Porsche owner (and proud) so am not familiar as the masses on these boards.
  2. This is one of the searches that brought me to this forum!!! :thankyou: I recently just bought a 2005 Cayenne S and am missing an Aux IN port. I have called a couple places here in Nashville (as I am scared to ruin something and also want to get full recourse if something goes wrong) and they say that it can be installed for $450 - $550 because of the Porsche being Fiber Optics. I don't have a Navi system mine is just the straight BOSE sound system with a single CD player. Wonder if I could have something like this installed and what it would be. I see a couple after market projects and now wondering what reasonable prices would be?
  3. Congratulations on your new purchase. I am a NEW (USED) Cayenne S Owner also. Just purchased the other week a 2005 and signed up on this forum today. In some ways I wish I would have signed up here before as it is full of so much information. I took mine to get a full inspection prior to buying it at an outside 3rd party garage and all they could find wrong with it was rear tires and brake were excessively corroded from what they thought sitting for so long (it was bought on auction off of lease). I actually negotiated those to be replaced though by the dealership and they just finished yesterday. The week I bought it I loaded it up and ran it from Nashville to Decatur, AL and loved the ride (a little over 100 miles) it really outperformed by old 2000 ML320 and I would say it is as fun of a drive as my 2008 BMW 328i. In regards to the "cushiness" I had an opposite experience. My last car for 7 years has been the ML320 and I really loved it and ended it with 207k in miles. It was very smooth but it was a completely different vehicle. The BMW 328i is a similar ride and feel (I guess sport car like). I had the hardest time finding a comfortable position for my seat too... and that is when I realized I don't have memory settings for my seat but I tend to be the type that rides different based on mood and time of day anyway.
