  1. Just happened again. The voltage on the battery reads 14.34. Is this low enough where it would trigger the ABS and battery light to turn on?
  2. Just hooked it up to a Durametric and there are no active codes. How do you check for pending codes? Thanks Andy
  3. Just realized I put this in the wrong sub-forum. Sorry about that.
  4. Recently I started my 99 Boxster and noticed that the ABS and Battery Light came on. I had this issue last year when my alternator failed so I hurried home as to make sure I didn't stall on the side of the road. I made it home and checked my voltage readings on the battery. With the engine off the battery read 12.5 and with the engine on the reading was 14.44. When I went to start the engine to check voltage, the lights were not on. Drove couple of days and the two lights came back on, but when I shut the engine off and restarted, the lights went away. Anyone have experience with this type of problem? Could this issue be caused by thin brake pads setting off the brake wear sensor? Any advice/help is appreciated. Thanks Andy
  5. For some reason, couldn't put my screen shot on, but here are the fuel trim numbers: Range 2 Cylinder 1-3 (FRA) 0.94 Range 2 Cylinder 4-6 (FRA2) 0.94 Range 1 Cylinder 1-3 (TRA) -0.02 Range 1 Cylinder 4-6 (TRA2) -0.02
  6. I also replaced my vent line, almost 600 miles ago, and my CEL problems have disappeared. My fuel trim numbers looks like this: Can anyone help me interpret these readings? Thanks
  7. Turns out I have the OBD2 (the more expensive version). I will be making a call to Sunset very soon.
  8. I think that is the line that goes into the evap purge valve. I've checked other posts and all of them state that the purge valve is on the drivers side. Mine appears to be on the passenger side. Atttached is a photo. I believe the item circled in red is the purge valve.
  9. I have a 1999 Boxster with 85k miles on it. Due to some rough idling, I decided to clean out the MAF sensor and the throttle body. After reading online and in books on how to remove the throtte body, I was successful. However after removing it I noticed a small tube tree that connects to the throttle body. Looking at diagrams online I never see this tube referenced. Anyone know what this tube is and if it is supposed to connect to something?
  10. Thanks Loren. I will go home today and check. For reference sake, what are the M660 and M664 options? sak
  11. Loren, I have a 1999 986, 2.5L. I have been getting P0446 code for a while and took it to a mechanic to get it checked out. After testing they believe the issue is with the canister itself. Do you know the part number of the EVAP canister for my car? I am getting a 2 or 3 different part numbers and the price is ranging from ~ $240 - $650. Thanks sak
  12. I have a 99 Boxster and just started experiencing rough idle on start up. The Idle will fluctuate and after a few minutes the engine will cut off. At this point, it is a struggle to start the engine again. You can turn the ignition but it will not start up immediately. You have to keep trying several times and then it may start. Even after it starts the idel is really rough and eventually just shuts off. The only code I have on the car at this time is P0446, which I do not believe would cause this problem. I did just recently replace all 4 O2 sensors. Has anyone experience this sort of problem? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Andy 99 Boxster 83 k miles.
