  1. Hello Loren Some users of Soloporsche tried to do this, but It keeps on doing the same function I can get the passenger window glass down with a one-touch, but I cannot lift it doing the same "one-touch" I tried to retrain the switch but doesn't work as the driver's one (both down and lift with only one touch) TIA
  2. How could I do it? Sorry Loren, I don't understand "retrain" :(
  3. Hi guys: I've doing a search but I didn't find anything about this. I'd like to mod passenger's window to be able to close up with a one touch switch Do you know if It's possible to do? TIA
  4. 996 Carrera 2 Coupe 2004 Interior metropol blue I'm looking for the shift boot in metropol blue leather Is this the part number? 99655265502 I'm not sure... How much does it cost? TIA
  5. I purchased this one: reference retrofit Kit = 00004450027 I've just confirmed the reference with a Porsche dealer and they told me that It's correct I think my problem was that the springs included in the kit (with red/white+green front, and blue/white+green strips) are not the M030 suspension They are very high, and as Loren told me , they shold have been with white + green strips

  7. I want to contribute to this post with some pics: (I did it a couple of months ago) Here you can see the allen hexagonal wrench (8 mm) A pan to gather the used oil: You'll never must be in a hurry ... let the oil fall down till the last drop... The oil filter tool remover (juankimalo's hand :P ) The first pic is about my car (996 C2 MY04) The rest of the pics are about a 996 C4S MY03 of my friend (We did the oil change to both cars) Very important: We used a graduated test tube (glass), and we did a meticulous measurement to fill the engine oil. 8,25 litters with oil filter (3.6 engine capabilty). We used two 4 L bottles and 1 L bottle of Mobil 1 5W50 (ideal viscosity for Spain) Every 4 L. bottle has really 3,8 L. So if you don't use a test graduated tube to fill the engine oil, take care about the real content of every bottle. We needed two "4" L. bottles, and almost 550 cc from the 1 L bottle to complete the engine oil capability (8,25 litters) It's very advisable to use the test tube, if you are a perfectionist
  8. Hi guys. I left the cans in the welding shop to get the mod done last week. They told me to go there to install them in my car. I had a 997 C4S cans from a friend of mine. They had to do a little change to fit them in the correct place and changing the end 997's doble pipes to fit in my rear defense. The 997 cans' end pipe have 35 cm distance from the starting corner. If you don't cut the pipe to 25 cm (like 996 cans), they will appear in the centre of the rear defense, (more or less like a BMW M3). They have to cut 10 cm to assemble the final pipe in the rear bumper holes. I don't know if I'm the first rennteamer who does this MK3 mod (997 cans into a 996) Incredible sound!!! 997 C4S mufflers works perfectly in a 996 Carrera 3.6!!!!!!!! It's best mod I've ever done in my car. New end pipes (997 C4S): Standard 996 3.6 cans with OEM end pipes (dismantekd): Installing 997 3.8 cans: Placing the 997 3.8 cans (After doing the bypass): VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqfAwkwMn58
  9. Did you get it fixed in the end? No The PCM unit is not working I dismantled it again and I couldn't repair it I sent the unit to Becker harmann spanish tecnichal service , but they told me that the mainboard was in bad conditions. It's too much expensive the repair price, to get a non updating navigator Last update CD were 2005 PCM 2 it's is obsolete I'm going to purchase a Becker Indianapolis Pro But I don't know if it will work with the BUS MOST Anybody knows?
  10. Thanks typhon... Let's hope to solve this problem ....
  11. I can't help you... Can you reset the whole sistem? Have you tried to extract the rear fuse of the unit for a long time? I hate electronic problems... like you .... The PCM 1 and PCM 2 are original equipment, and look good in the dashboard, but we have to assume that we can find better products in the market The Pioneer AVIC-HD3BT is fantastic too.
  12. I finally received the SIM card tray from Becker USA. :clapping: My PCM2 had it broken. I did the replacement, and followed the instructions from the DIY: :soapbox: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9559 When I connected the unit to the car, the PCM2 didn't work. A friend of mine (electronic engineer) helped me in dismantling again the PCM2. He checked up all the connectors and mounted again the unit. All seems to be correct Then we went to plug in the car and the PCM2 was out of work We decided to go out with the car for a while and show him the excellences of the 996. 10 minutes later, suddenly the PCM started working. It began to play the 1st disc from the Compact disc changer, in a loud volume. The new SIM card tray worked too, as we could see the phone operative. The only thing incorrect was that that the keyboard didn't responde...:renntech: Then we stopped the car, disconnet the battery for 15 minutes, and after that..... the PCM2 worked!!!!!!!!!!!! I could update the hour, date, check the phone list, change 3 or four times the CD changer, selected the new radio stations, etc. I checked the Navigation sistem too. Always was perfect...!!! But 15 minutes later , the PCM2 suddenly seized up.:renntech: We couldn't do anything more because It was blocked in a radio station... Finally we deciced to continue the next day. The day after the battery was dead. Almost 4 years, .... normal.... a normal battery life... I purchased a new one but the PCM2 continued blocked... Then I disconnected the PCM2 unit from the car till I could find the solution. All the fuses were correct, the wiring, the connectors... so what could I do? I went to see a frind who purchased the Durametric Tool last week, but we didn't know how to solve the problem The durametric offered a PCM error, but no how to proceed. I decided to check it other day because we have no experience and I left the car parked in the garage 3 days after I went to get the car, but the new battery was completely dead. I went to the shop and thanks to the warranty, they replaced me with a new one. What can I do? Why the PCM2 can't work? Why the battery is at high risk when the car is parked and closed? I'm getting mad. I read everything I found here about PCM2 troubles I could see that there is a way to plug the wiring, and I read that some people had the same battery issue too Please help!!!! Thanks in advance
  13. I must say that they are fantastic 3.500 kms and the R050A works perfectly Excellent grip,
  14. I did it! But now I have a problem: The PCM2 unit doesn't work properly I think it's a software problem, because it's blocked. The screen works, volume blocked, phone works, radio station blocked, but all the buttons aren't operative. I have to replace the car battery
  15. Hi guys: A friend of mine have installed the OEM PSE in his car (997 Carrera 4S) As he doesn't need the old mufflers he gave me his 997 C4S cans with the standard double tail pipes. I'm going to bring them to a welding shop to get the MKII mod done in these 997 mufflers. The questions are: 1) I think that they are going to sound similar to 996 3.6l MkII Mod. What do you think? Are the internal cans the same in the both (996 and 997) ? 2) Will they fit in my car? What must they do to fit these 997 cans in my 996 C2? I can see that they are a bit different 3) I love the double round tail pipes of 997 Carrera 4S, much better than mine. Do you know if my rear bumper tail pipe holes are wide enough to fit them? Thanks in advance. I post 2 pics. here you can see a couple of 996 3.6l mufflers with the Mod MkII In the other pic you can see a 997 C2S muffler with the same mod, just exactly what I want to do. Could you help me please?
  16. Thanks ! I'm going to search them. I'll tell you if I find something interesting
  17. I'm going to mod my 3.6 cans The mod is the one with a 2,25" stainless steel tube. I'm going to get them welded by a welding shop. They work very good. My question is if anyone could do this mod welding electrical valves (connected by wiring to a switch) to cut out the bypass, similar to OEM PSE. OEM PSE: Mod without valves:
  18. Congratulations! These days are the best.... what a nervously issue till you'd got it
  19. All my friends who mounted this tire were very disappointed about the cornering stability, and handling compared to S02. I finally purchased Bridgestone Potenza R050A without N-specs. They seem to be fantastic My rear size 285/30 R18 is not available in Good Year Eagle F1 GSD3. What a pity! But they are available for 996 Mk1 owners (265/35 R18)
