    I want to buy a set of wheels for the track to do DE's and the like but I don't want to spend $3.5k doing it. Any suggestions on where to get wheels? Are there other Porsche wheels that will fit the 987?

    I've got a 05 987 and really love the way the car drives. It's much easier to drive than a 911. With a Boxster, it's pretty much a natural feel. With the 911 you have to learn how to handle it. I have a friend with a 01 turbo who is generous enough to let me drive his car from time to time. There is a significant difference (disregarding horsepower). But you have to decide why you're buying the car. If you are looking for cache' then go for the 911. For pure fun, it's hard to beat a Boxster.

    Knock on wood, 14k miles and going strong, minimal oil usage, no leaks. More knocking on wood....

    Mine started squeaking after about 13,800. It was driving me crazy. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the spring thing. It felt great and was really quiet after that. Took the car out a few days later and drove it hard all day on a tour, lot's of shifting. Stupid pedal started squeaking again just like before. Drove the car the next day and the squeaking was gone again for the most part. Not sure why driving the car that way made it happen. The composite material the pedal is made from seems to be prone to this when the spring gets a little stiff. I'll watch it, if it keeps happening we'll go back to the shop.

    I love driving on down to Big Sur. Unfortunately living in Texas doesn't let me take my Porsche down that road very often. When I fly in to San Jose about the best thing I've rented is a Mustang convertible but the scenery makes up for it.
