  1. Hello again & Merry Christmans to everyone!!! I fitted the 4 stalk cruise control this weekend to my 2003 ROW 996 Carrera 4 (Manual) and now every time i turn the steering wheel i hear a scratching noise (a plastic one not a metallic), that i think comes from the ESP sensor. Has this happened to anybody else? Have i fitted something wrong? The car drives normal & i have no warning lights or error messages. I think i will have to remove the steering wheel again and see what might be wrong... Best Regards & A Happy New Year!!! Nikos.
  2. Thank you Chris, very much! I did not know that these were seperate parts, neither did the Dealer!!! I will have them ordered the soonest possible! Nikos!
  3. Hello again, i received the 4 column stalk yesterday and i think i have some kind of problem. The stalk i received does not have the covers on all four stalks, but only on the two on the left side. The two stalks on the right side have no covers. I asked my Porsche Dealer why that is so, but had no idea & could find no part numbers for the missing parts. So my question is, is that so? Do all 4 column stalks have only two of the covers? What can i do to get the missing two, or at lease the cover for the cruise control stalk? The stalk i got is the same as the one shown on the first page of this thread, of course without the yellow wiring. I intent to fit the new stalk this weekend and have it activated at my dealer the following week. I hope the fitting process is not that difficult, and i wont have to remove a lot of parts, like i did last time in order to fit my PSE! Thanks in advance! Nikos.
  4. Hello again, i got the PSE and have already installed all the electronics and most of the plumping. I am planing to install the box tomorrow morning. The whole process is not that difficult, especially if you have done it in a 996 before. I spent last week installing the whole unit on my late 02 996 C4 and i love it!!! Worth every penny!!! I am now installing the PSE on a friends 04 986 S. I will post pictures of the back box & try to make some sound clips before & after on & off PSE! Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the perfect information on installing the PSE!!! Keep up the good work! Nikos.
  5. The kit i am looking for is the one shown in the following picture. Toolpants, do you know if that is the one with the part number that i mention? I am not interested in the pre-2002 PSE with the wierd tail-pipes. Nikos.
  6. Could someone please verify that the correct part number for a PSE Kit (with the button on the dashboard) for a ROW 2004 986 Boxster S is 000.044.200.20? I tried to check with my local Porsche Dealer, and was told that there is no sport exhaust for post 2003 986 S, and the part number that i gave him (the one i mention in this post) is a sport exhaust but it is not stated for which car-model, has no picture on the system and has never been imported to Greece. So he told me to double check the part-number and then order it. Thanks in advance. Nikos.
  7. Could someone please verify that the correct part number for the PSE kit for my ROW 2002 996 C4 is the 000.044.200.21 ? Thanks in advance. Nikos.
  8. One question please, eventhough i think i know the answer. My 2002 Row C4 is ecquiped with PCM1 16 bit system & I found a European 2000-1.1 Porsche-Navtech CD. Anyone knows whether that will work in my system? As far as i can understand from the previous messages, i dought it... Thanks in advance! Nikos.
  9. Hello! I also had the same problem with a friend's 2004 986S. You should tie the illumination of the Rear spoiler switch to a switch that only has dashboard illumination & does not have an additional light (i.e. not PSM, Rear windshield heating, Central locking) such as Rear Wiper, Roof Opan/Close etc. Nikos.
  10. Thank you Orient Express for your reply. So what do you think, should i have it checked and changed ASAP or can it wait just keep it in mind and checked frequently? Is there any harm if i keep it like this and if it gets any worse get it changed? Regards, Nikos.
  11. Hello, i went for my first long trip with my '02 Carrera 4, this weekend, and covered about 1.000Km! Had a great drive & a great blast!!! Today, as i was going to work, went to check the car at the parking & noticed a small oil puddle under the car. I have taken a couple of pictures & will try to upload them. The puddle is between the rear wheels, so i suspect RMS, could someone please verify it & advice me what to do? The car has 34.000Km and is ROW '02, 6-speed, 996 Carrera 4. I bought the car 5 months ago & have just covered my first 3.000km... Is it worth changing it or can it wait for when i might change the clutch or do my full service at 40.000Km? I would prefer to avoid going to my one and only OPC here in Athens, since i do not trust them, unless there is real need! I guess if i do an RMS change at the dealer then i will have 2 years guaranty on that, right? Regards! Nikos.
  12. Thank you Renos for your reply, yes my car is a 2003 Carrera 4 and will need some rewiring but seems quite straight forward! Now, i am a bit confused...which if the two is the correct part number for the matte switch? 996.613.155.00 A05 or 996.613.155.10 A05? Remeber it is for a RoW LHD not a RHD UK car! Nikos.
  13. Hello! Could someone please inform me whether the correct part number for the Spoiler Switch for a 2003 ROW 996 is the following? 996.613.155.00 A05 (matte). I went to my one and only Porsche Dealer today, gave him this part number but could not verify that it is the correct PN for my car... :censored: Thanks in advance!!! Nikos.
  14. Well the car has the following equipment as far as i can remeber: MY02 Carrera 4, Bassalt Black Metallic paint, Manual gearbox, Sunroof, Bixenon (Litronic), Full Leather (Black) Interior with stitching (Exclusive) with center tunnel dressed in leather (Exclusive) & alcantara top, Aluminum Package, 18inch Carrera Classic wheels, Automatically dimming interior and exterior (& heated) mirrors with integrated rain sensor, Rear window wiper, Electrically adjustable seats, Heated seats, PCM1 with Navigation module, Telephone Module & Privacy Telephone dressed in Leather (Exclusive), BOSE Surround Sound System, Six disc CD autochanger, ParkAssist (parking aid rear), Windscreen with green top tint, Alarm, Porsche license plate holder. Some things i will certainly add are PSE, Cruise Control (if that is easy to be retrofited), Aluminum Rings on the instruments (allready ordered), OEM Porsche Bra & Mirror Bras (already ordered)! Nikos.
  15. Hello! Could someone inform me which of the previously mentioned parts are needed & how hard is it to retrofit the Cruise Control to my MY02 996 Carrera 4? Do you know if there are some detailed information on how to do it? Nikos.
  16. So, no one has tried fitting the OEM Cruise control on the 996? I have seen a similar topic on the 986, so i might try that. Nikos.
  17. Thank you! It is an excellent car! @Riad you are not the first one to tell me about the wrapper...but it's not miiiiineeee!!! It came from a guy drooling over my car, that came of the bus, parked next to it!!! What can i say!!! @gcp I'll try to be careful but it's not always easy driving that car... :drive: Nikos.
  18. Well, for the past month i've been the happy owner of a Basalt Black MY02 996 Carrera 4!!! The car has 31.000Km, first registration is 01/03, full service history & fully loaded!!! I have a couple of pictures i will try to upload and many more to come!!! This post has been delayed many times since my only thought was to finish work, get in the car & drive it!!! All i have to say is... :jump: "What a car!!! What an experience!!!" :jump: It's not the first time i am driving a Porsche (i've actually driven all of them in all variations, apart from 987 & Cayman) but it's MY first Porsche!!! :king: I have a lot of questions to ask about the car, but it is too early! For the time being, could you please inform how easy it is to fit Cruise Control on my car and what parts (& part numbers if that is possible) are needed? My car is MY02 with PCM1, C4 Coupe, Manual, ROW! I'of for a ride now!!! I hope, soon enough, i will be able to contribute to this excellent forum!!! Keep up the good work!!! :renntech: Nikos (A very happy Porsche owner!)
  19. Hi again... There seems to be some problem with the dealer who has the Carrera 2 so i found another car that interests me. It's a late MY02 Carrera 4 (registration 3-1-2003), black with almost the same stuff as the MY03 Carrera 2 (registration 17-11-02), but without the PSE & Sport chassis, instead it has Parktronic. Any major changes between late MY02 & early MY03???Should i go for the Carrera 4 or just wait & find something else with PSE & sport chassis? I am really pissed with the dealer... Regards. Nikos.
  20. Thanks Loren!!! The car does have PSM, as well as PSE & Sport chassis! Looking forward to getting the car, i hope everything will be ready the first week of January! Regards! Nikos!
  21. Hello to all, i am in the market for a 996 and have found an MY03 that really interests me. I have read & learned many things on this excellent forum & am hopefully going to continue learning & contributing a lot!!! I got a copy of the service book & am trying to see what every code is. I have found most of them, but some are missing. If someone can help me decode the last of them i would be very grateful! The ones that are missing are the following X97, X98, 226, 09991, 10001. In addition, can someone tell me whether all the MY03 996's have rear limited slip dif or was it an option. Some of the options that are not stated in the codes are sunroof, PCMII, rear wiper, PSM, Heated seats, Leather interior & White dials. Thanks in advance, i hope i will be a happy 996 owner very soon!!! :jump: Nikos.
