  1. Thanks Loren, I have not looked into MA shaw or any others yet. It was something I was just wondering about. I saw a c4s deck lid for around $250 and thought if it worked it would be a nicely spent $250 :). Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated
  2. Thanks Loren, The reflector was what I was hoping to gain. I saw thru other searches that some people said it worked, but needed different lights, and some said it wouldn't, basically experiences all over the board. While looking at pictures of the two different decklids, they appear to actually be the same size, however the lower portion of the C4S version is recessed for the reflector. I am attaching pics so you can can see what I mean. Thanks much!
  3. Heya, So i was wondering if anyone knew off hand if the decklid size for the C4 and C4S were the same size? I know the C4S is a widebody car, but I am not sure that would necessarily mean a change in the decklid size. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks and Happy Holidays
  4. Redbarn, That is something that did not come with mine, would be great if it had. They do not even mention it in their instructions or in any pics of the system. Its nice to know I am not crazy thinking that thing should be attached :)
  5. Heya, So I wanted to see if anyone on here had run into this, and get some opinions or ideas. I have a 2000 996 C4, love it. I bought the EVOMS cai, and installed it. I noticed while installing it the fitment from the filter to the pipe connecting to the throttle body did not have any method of being sealed. The pipe sort of fit semi-snugly inside the filter. I contacted EVOMS, to make sure I was not missing something like a clamp or some such. They did respond quickly and we very nice, but they assured me that is how it was supposed to be. Looking at other installs of this I see the same thing. What I have noticed however is twice in the month or so I have had it, the filter has slipped off the connecting pipe, and caused a cel to be thrown. This is not a big deal to fix, but the design seems a bit off. I also had another issue with it where the pipe attaching to throttle body slipped off while under load on the freeway (waaay unfun), since this happended only once I don't think it has much to do with the cai design. When this thing is on, and all the parts are connected, i love it, throttle response is great, sound is just awesome. Today I was at my shop and they were also commenting on how it did not seem to fit 'quite right'. We messed with it for a while, and I showed them how it fit in there. They also seemed to think it shoudl have another clamp or a better way to secure the filter. I am wondering if a better coupling of the filter to the throttle body pipe could be achieved with a silicon sleeve or the cutting the pipe and using two seperate silicone hoses , one on each side of the maf, the hose from the fabspeed one seems like a good candidate. I want to be clear that in no way I am trying to slam EVOMS at all, they have sold tons of these things, and like I said when its on, I love it. I am just wondering if anyone has run into this, or if they have any ideas. Thanks much
  6. FWIW I had the Spyder LED's, got em from Amazon (great return policy) they were not plug n play, they reused my factory harness, and they needed a resistor. They did fit well. I kept gettng the readed ABS & PSM light however. I resturned em to Amazon and ordered the Dectane 997 style lights from Evolution Motorsports, had em in less than a week. Not only do the Dectanes fit great, they have their own wiring harness with a resistor, they are truly plug n play. They are more expensive than the Spyders, but I did not have to reuse my factory harness or buy another one, and I did not have to install my own resistor.
  7. Same thing bit me ... But now I have and extra maf and brake switch at least
  8. Heya So I have searched around and seen differing opinions on this, but I wanted to see what the community here had to say. I have a Gemballa GT spoiler and decklid for my 996 c4. Fit and finish are great. My question is this... Does the fan from the original deck lid need to be used? The way the decklid and spoiler are designed allow for much better airflow and circulation than the regular deck lid. I have seen people say it does and others say it does not. I am not opposed to using the fan (would need to make a mount for it ) but I would like your thoughts. Thanks much
  9. Either Dave at Exclusive Car Care in Manassas or Charlie Murphy at Intersport in Tyson's . I have used both for years, and they are both wizards.
  10. So I have searched and not found mention of this yet. I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the from a regular 996 tiptronic steering wheel to a multifunction one, from a newer model 911? Has anyone tried this or know if it's possible? Thanks much
  11. Not sure if this applys with the 996 but I had this happen on my old S4, was a crank sensor
  12. Heya, I will post pics when I put em on again, they are in desperate need of new tires, and I have em off waiting for the new tires. As for fit i they went on no problem at all, had zero rub. One thing I did notice was that the speedometer was off when i tested em out. The tires on the rears are 295/30/18. The wheels are beautiful, I actually have an extra set of rears, but they are et45 so for a wb.
  13. I have some PDF's of how to dismantle it, they are actually very good, shoot me a PM with your email and I will send em to ya. They are too big for me to post on here
