  1. No I didn't replace the complete exhaust which is indeed the PSE which has a great sound. I just removed the standard tips and replaced them with some black powder coated fabspeed ones to follow the black/orange car theme.
  2. My wife saw one of these while we were shopping for a gray S, & fell in love with it. I protested mildly because it wasn't an S and I had said that was the only way I could stand trading in our modified C5 (or so I thought). I slept on it overnight (really bummed about not having the S bits), but thought, "Happy wife, happy life" and we went and got it the next day. We like the "retro" look of the silver accented wheels on the base model better than the blackies on the S. It puts a smile on everyone's face that we've shared it with so far! And that's worth a lot (especially my wife's). As far as moving them, the dealer sold the first 3 in a matter of weeks, with the first S being snatched up by an employee. And ours being a non-S, I get to start "improving" it. ;-) Stu Well you might want to add something like this perhaps:
  3. You could even try here at $259.95 ...... Suncoast - Link to Boxster Logos
  4. I have picked the car up and I must same I am totally blown away..... :D I really can't stop smilling......yes at last the car is home!!! Here he is waiting to come out to play: His better side: His badge: 'Arty' shot 1: 'Arty' shot 2: 'Arty' shot 3: His master 'breaking him in': Out on the road roof down (Big grin on face too): Tango resting outside the office:
  5. Perhaps its becasue everyone is actually driving their cars and not just talking about them :)
  6. The dealer is really out of his mind. The OS discs can be obtained here BOSE PCM Disc Other OS PCM Disc as you can see, $2.09 each. A slighty inflated price over there!!!
  7. I don't think so, other than the new maps work. It should be noted that over here in the US it was a free update. However, things maybe different over there as the warranty obligations are different.
  8. It is possible to update the OS to version 3 there is a TSB detailed the proceedure (13/04 - W522) which is available to contributing members. However the disc with the OS on is part number 000.043.205.46 for non BOSE cars and 000.043.205.50 for BOSE cars. If you have BOSE you will need both discs as you do both upgrades. You will also need the TSB if you are going to do this yourself.
  9. The color under tube lighting isn't great but when it's under sunlight it is stunning!! But then I am also biased (and perhaps color blind too!) as I must be the only other one to buy one!!!
  10. I have seen one of the Limited Edition Boxster and S version with this button, although I do not yet have a good photo. If I get a good one I will post it together with an under the car one.
  11. You would not see the 'Sport Exhaust' icon as this car has the 'Sport Chrono' option and in doing so it's button replaces the exhaust button. The PSE is controlled using the same 'Sport' button.
  12. A dealer sold my wife the paint protection product.... to be honest it is rubbish, you would be better off purchasing a bottle of 'Rejex' and doing it yourself. I have since been warned off by fellow Porsche owners on any of 'Dealer add-ons' as they are really not worth the money.
  13. Try this link... there should be enough here to keep your 'Orange Fever' at bay :D http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...tem&CID=622
  14. I am picking up one of these Halloween cars in about two weeks time, my 'Pumkin S' aka 'Tango' is on her cruise at the moment.
  15. Just added the MY2008 Order Guide for the Cayman and Limited Edition Boxster. Thanks to the cayman club for the cayman guide.
  16. Includes photos of GT2, Porsche Design Cayman etc Frankfurt Motor Show
  17. It would help if the DME (assuming it still functions) is read then the mappings used to write to the new one. (You will still need the IPAS code I think)
  18. Much as I like the Porsche design version of the cayman the $ to options was better on the Boxster and I had already ordered the car way before the cayman was announced. If I was honest, too much black and way too much non-car goodies ie the luggage etc
  19. Hi Nick, I just placed my order a few weeks ago in Canada. There are going to be less than 40 of both base and S models up north. When did you place your order, and have you received a firm delivery date yet? Apart from the standard options, what else did you add? I only added Xenon. Everything except the Tiptronic gearbox. ie: P74 Bi-Xenon Headlights 342 Heated Front Seats 551 Porsche Windstop 640 Sport Chrono package plus 680 BOSE - Surround Sound System 810 Floor mats P23 Porsche Communication Management with Extended Nav When are you expecting delivery ??? So far I've been quoted early November, but the dealership said it might take until early January. If you don't mind me asking, what did your total price come to? I couldn't get much a discount. The dealership waived the PDI and Freight, so approximately $2,000. Cost of car with all the options is $66,975 USD plus TAX @ 6%. My car is in production as we speak and is scheduled to complete on the 20th of September, shipping allowing it still should be here for mid-October.

  21. ....and I would put money on the USA not seeing the manual version!!!
  22. New Porsche Cayenne GTS now even more powerful Sporty version added to successful model range at the IAAStuttgart. With the new Cayenne GTS, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, is reiterating the successful Cayenne series’ prominence in the sporty SUV segment. The model, which celebrates its world debut at the IAA in Frankfurt, features an enhanced 4.8-liter V8, has been lowered by 24 millimeters and has a specially developed chassis: it is the first Cayenne to feature the electronically controlled damping system, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), with steel springs. This combination was previously reserved exclusively for Porsche sports cars. The 4.8-liter engine with direct gasoline fuel injection (DFI) in the Cayenne GTS yields 405bhp (298 kW) at 6,500 revolutions per minute – 20bhp more than in the Cayenne S. Maximum torque remains unchanged at 500Nm at 3,500 revolutions per minute. This, the sportiest of Porsche SUVs, comes as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox and a shorter axle drive ratio than the Cayenne S (4.1:1 as opposed to 3.55:1). The Cayenne GTS can thus accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds, precisely 0.5 seconds quicker than the Cayenne S. The Cayenne GTS is fitted with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) permanent all-wheel drive and the adaptive PASM chassis as standard. As well as optional air suspension, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active anti-roll system is available to enhance handling and ride comfort. Newly developed 12-way sports seats and a leather-Alcantara mix emphasize the sporty interior. The new Cayenne GTS is instantly recognizable: the front and rear look the same as the Cayenne Turbo, and the striking 14mm wheel-arch enlargements offer plenty of space for the standard 21-inch alloy rims with 295/35 R21 tires. Two new colors have also been reserved exclusively for the GTS: GTS Red and Nordic Gold Metallic. The new Cayenne model with Tiptronic S transmission has an average consumption of 13.9 liters/100 km in accordance with EU standards. Global dispatch will start in February 2008. In Germany it will cost 76,725 Euros including 19 percent VAT and country-specific requirements; the base price is 64,300 Euros. The base price for the USA (MSRP USA) is US $69,300. UK Web Special
  23. They didn't get my money.....They have a brochure with a lots of extra services.... and if you were unaware of what is required and what is optional you would be handing over the shirt off your back. I would love to name and shame them!!!
