  1. Could I have a bit more info about the door panel? I thought that there were specific screws that could be removed to allow the panel to swivel enough to reach the speaker covers. Many have mentioned on various threads here that the panels dont have to be completely removed? Im really confused now-help!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://www.ecoutez.net/boxster/door-panel-removal/ Here is the link for instructions of door removal (Boxster). I recommend to remove the door before replacing speaker covers, because it's much easier and safer that way. When you can swivel the panel, you almost remove the panels anyway.
  2. One sugguestion - just hand paint the red portion with Testors. With some effort, you can get professional result.
  3. You donot have to access the speakers, but still have to remove the door panels. Remove 4 hooks of the old speaker covers with some small tools (ie. flat bed driver). Not sure about the alarm though.
  4. Someone please specify which LEDs :lightbulb: I have to buy. Thanks
  5. Let me add one question here. The klusters are swapable? Can I just replace 1999 kluster with 2002 cluster? :help:
  6. 0. Pry out button panels(left & right) from bottom to top 1. Radio - pull out using the radio removal tools as Loren said. 2. AC - pry out the AC surrounding bezel , remove 2 screws on the top(left and right). 3. Batwing - prying out the leather paddings, in turn, the batwing from the side. I head Magellan sells the wires, but never seen one.
  7. I think erics is refering to 'sports touring package' (= 'sports design package'). Anyway, looks fantastic! LVDell & erics, I agree the wheels are beautiful, but good luck with cleaning them
  8. So the newer version of OS is included in 'current' TomTom GO Plus? Or do I have to wait for new one for 'quickest' path?
  9. Sorry for a question about aftermarket stuff, but anyone have experience with "TomTom GO Plus" or "Garmin StreetPilot c330"? Are they basically same? Looks like I can get much cheaper price on TomTom, but someone claims TomTom gives 'shortest' path instead of 'fastest' path...is it true? Any comments will be appreciated!
  10. For MY99, I believe Boxster Red was the only full leather interior option. Consider 'replacing' instead of 'recovering', you can buy door panels or dash in good condition from ebay. Cheaper & Easier. Congrats on your near new Boxster.
  11. LVDell, thanks for accepting my "LOW BALL" offer! Maybe I can post something like "High beam rotation on Litronics - worth it?" later.
  12. Thanks for the offer, MA$E. Fortunetely I just got used pairs from local Boxster owner. FYI, AMBulbs.com told me they are working on better city light bulbs(whiter but not blueish reflextion when it's off) . Thanks for help!
  13. Thanks for the link, MA$E. The person on the link said Philips is NOT yellowish at all, but the same person later said it IS still yellowish. So is it better, but still yellowish?
  14. looks too yellowish to me! Anyone tried HID matching blue version from Osram or other brand? Does it make noticeable difference? Any recommendation, please.
  15. This is perfect news to me, just in time! my top just start rattling, and plastic window got some scratches. Keep us updated!
  16. Yes high beam. As far as I know, you cannot retrofit auto leveling feature anyway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So Jeff or geoff, what happens if I turn on high beam with no wires installed? No highbeam at all???
  17. For those who installed Litronic headlights (not factory installed), is it worth to connect all the wires to get the extra feature? or just plug and play and be happy about it?
  18. I heard the bigger problem is the needles are not working after replacement. One of the member had to go back to dealer to fix them. Ask Henry what to do before you take any risk!
  19. Yes it's possible. The upper console from 99-01 Carrera is compatible with yours.
  20. Hmmm...At least I'm not the only one messing up with dashboard. When is next work on cars day? :) ...or swap day... <_<
  21. I'm more motivated now with your tips and advices, in addition to Loren's comment. :) Do you have any instructions or pics? I have workshop manuals, which look good enough for me to get going, but I want to collect any additional information as much as possible. MOD IS DESEASE!
